I think tall buildings in Vancouver are gravitating to Burnaby due to excessive height restrictions. Burnaby is supposedly getting a 200m+ building.

I was thinking more within a city proper. Burnaby would compare better to Mississauga building towers. So maybe False Creek would be more accurate of a comparison for Vancouver.

Mississauga has a lot more in common with Surrey than Burnaby. Burnaby and North York are much more similar. If Vancouver's suburbs ever amalgamated Burnaby would be the first to be absorbed into a Vancouver megacity.

Even NYC, with the exception of Jersey City which is really just Manhattan west. Houston, maybe is a better comparison.

Surrey has very few highrises though.

It's been 20 years since Skytrain's been in Surrey and not a whole heck of a lot has happened. Now with the Evergreen Line being built, a lot of focus is going to be on Port Moody and Coquitlam, which have waterfronts, lakes, and mountains. Even without Skytrain, Coquitlam Center has built a pretty decent node of density, so I think it'll end up being Coquitlam that gets compared to Mississauga.

How much housing for Surrey's prostitutes, drug dealers, pimps, and gangsters does Surrey think they need?

Whalley is the largest Alabama trailer park outside of Alabama.

A few oldies but goodies..........
Why are people in Richmond so happy?......because they never have to say they're Surrey
What does a Surrey girl call safe sex..............a bus shelter
What does a Surrey girl call unsafe sex?........Surrey Central SkyTrain Station
What do you get when there is a party in Whalley?......a full set of teeth
What does the Surrey mom and her daughter have in common?.....They're in the same grade.

^^^

I sent them an email complaining about it.

That's pretty fucking dumb and offensive (and I'm not even from Toronto)

Agreed. Not to mention the photo is like 15 years old.

^ That's stupid. They used an old photo too. Toronto is actually such a fun city. The traffic is bad, but that's what happens when you jam 7 million people into a small space with a huge lake hugging the entire area.

LOL. That's definitely only something someone from SSP would complain about.

haha yeah I guess! But the changes are so obvious now, with Ice, Ritz, CityPlace, etc, I think a general Torontonian would probably recognize that it's really old.

That looks great! gotta say I'm not really a fan of Surrey / Langley area, they have such a different vibe than Vancouver / Richmond / Burnaby. Hopefully this will change all that.
