I'm looking forward for 33 Peachtree Place. It's presence will make a major impact.

I agree. The current renderings due not capture the true scale of that project and the mark it will make in that location.

Are you sure? Others are saying that site prep is ongoing.

Yoo is definitely in progress, and has been for awhile.

Funny enough, I took a walk over there this morning and all of the machinery is gone. The only signs of activity are a couple of port-a-john's and that white contractor sign. Half of the road in front of the property is still blocked off though, so maybe it's just in a transition phase.

I asked this morning with my coffee. One didn't know, the other said "probably October," so my guess is it's all going to start coming down October 1st.

^They look fantastic. Some people have been complaining about the blue livery, but I love it.

Although I'm biased as they are a former client (that I really liked), I am so glad we went with Siemens. And it's very cool that final assembly happens in Alpharetta after the cars arrive from Sacramento.

In MARTA's defense, only a very small handful of U.S. transit agencies run 24 hours. It's not the norm, by any means.

And we certainly don't have the ridership at this point to justify it at all.

Some pictures I took while biking this weekend. Most of the Colonial Homes apartments have been razed or are being prepared to be razed. Anyone know what is going in there? (Other than the Jane which is already under construction.)

Mike, they are redeveloping the entire neighborhood. The large majority of the original rowhomes are being rehabbed and will remain. The new owners are increasing the density with The Jane and other new additions.

More info on the Colonial Homes demo. I feel sorry for the folks in single-family Collier Hills. This construction will definitely increase traffic in their quiet neighborhood. The Jane actually looks better than I though it would. It's just so massive. I always liked the character of Colonial Homes although they are in need of TLC.

Totally agree, Rudy. And the Jane is massive, compared to the scale of the existing neighborhood.

I have real mixed feelings about what's taking place here, but it's so close in it was bound to change. It's ultimately a good thing, and it's happening all over town.

I hope that large scale development can be kept along the spine of Peachtree through Buckhead.

The charming neighborhoods (Garden Hills, Collier Hills, Peachtree Battle, Peachtree Hills) deserve to be kept in good condition. To me they are part of what makes the city so livable - they offer good choices for those who have done the high rise and highly dense living and were not wooed buy its supposed charms.
