Had someone deliver cali rolls for takeout once. Saw the menu and the prices were very decent. The sushi was good, but I only had one take out roll to judge it. Its across the street, but trying it in person is still on my to-do list.

Does anyone know much about the Executive Group as a developer? I've got my eye on West's second phase, Tower Green (the type of place we're looking for is sold out in the first phase), but haven't heard much about them before.

Also, do we know if there are any more developments in the works towards the west end of the village closer to Cambie (near where James/Maynard's Block is)? It seems like the focus right now is towards Main instead.

The Speedy Auto building at 2nd and Wylie is being set for demolition it seems. That is the spot to the West of Pinnacle on the map posted above. I assume we will hear more about what is going in there shortly.

It's interesting that they have fenced off that site but we haven't seen any sort of DP or rezoning application. It appears it sold in 2010 for $9.8M but I'm not sure to who, or if it has traded hands again. I expect that Concord's site will be the next one to start moving.

Maybe with the garage there, the site will need some remediation, so they'll submit in the interim.

The city has allowed boats to moor again in false creek, they know that these boat squatter dump their waste overboard but fail to do anything about it. They then claim that it's not possible that the dozen of so boats would have a substantial effect on the e coli levels.

Personally lets get rid of the squatter boats again and I bet we'll see the levels drop again. Even the East section was getting close to swimmable a few years ago, now look at it.

Given the recent weather and all the environmental upgrades, I was surprised by the water conditions at first.

Then I remembered both the anchored houseboats, and the increased boating for the fireworks.

On another note, Mahoney & Sons at the former Monk McQueens site is on the verge of opening -- patio furniture was on the deck. It looks nice from the outside, they did put a lot of work into it.

How was the city able to allow the boaters back to squat? This is federal water and when they removed them a few years back wasn't it done by the federal ocean and fisheries department? And even if the city was able to allow them back I wonder why they would
