Another rollover at Nordel Way Connector & Highway 17 in Delta - 3rd I think in the last 6-8 weeks in the same location, although this one is on a different leg of the intersection.
Past time to set up grandstands and sell tickets for the Canadian NASCAR, or at least sell footage to whatever Discovery Channel show is airing that content today.

I feel bad for those drivers, it's got to be one of the most embarrassing and expensive accidents for them to have.

Like that low clearance bridge in the states that has a webcam aimed at it to capture truck after truck after truck hitting it and sheering of the top off it's trailer.

I don't feel bad at all about those drivers flipping their trucks.

If they drove the corners at a proper speed this wouldn't happen.

The public expense each time one of these idiots drives unsafely is what pisses me off.

And that expense should be put on the drivers insurance premium if they are an O/O or their company will have to pay for the higher insurance. Their company then would need to decide if that driver is worth keeping.

What gets me is how see one flipped truck. Now you would think that other drivers would take notice of that and drive more carefully through that intersection. But apparently that is not the case.

4 now in less than a month...

This caused a horrific domino effect, that caused one of the worst commutes Metro Vancouver has seen in a very, very, very long time. It's 6:30pm and the back up for the Alex Fraser STILL begins before Knight Street...

I didn't work today thank god, but Garden City@Blundell to Hwy 91@64th would of taken at least 1.5 hours if not way more tonight.

If I had worked and left at 5pm:
1. Couldn't take the Alex Fraser - accident midspan SB
2. Couldn't take 99 - Accident SB just after SFPR
3. Couldn't take 99/SFPR/91 - closed due to truck rollover
4. Couldn't take 99/17a/10 - accident now inside the Massey Tunnel itself SB
5. Couldn't take 99NB/Marine to Pattulo - accident on Columbia EB@3rd
6. What if I chose to drive through Burnaby to Hwy 1, then Port Mann to 152nd... - accident on 152nd
7. Doesn't affect me, but an accident 91NB midspan Alex Fraser too

If you commute Richmond-South Surrey you were screwed. There was literally no other possible way you could go.

They will greatly improve this intersection, and probably really soon. Which after tonight isn't just an improvement, but a necessity. Just expect it to be closed for a while.

Traffic was horrendous everywhere today, even in Vancouver.

I'm just thankful that all of these roll-overs have miraculously avoided crushing any cars!

i work in richmond I live in guildford. So went my normal route down to sfpr get stuck being unable to turn on to the connector. Which then I figure I'd head down to 99. Well that turned out to be a huge mistake as traffic was at a stand still. Luckily was right by river road exit. Decide that maybe I'd just head back towards patullo at least but river road was back up completely and apparently there was a truck stuck trying to do a U-turn. But while driving that route I was finally listening to the radio so heard they cleared the truck so I was able to cut back to SFPR thru the industrial area. Get back up to the connector and finally get on 91. After all that which normally takes 30 mins to get to work took 2 and a half hours.

didn't help hitting the fire on 88th ave and 152 and 104 lights being out on my way home tonight either. Worst driving experience ever.

I imagine the rollovers have occurred because there weren't any cars in the area at the time. If there had been, the trucks probably wouldn't be taking the corners as quickly.

I hope the drivers are being fined for this.

Funny enough, I saw a close call near the 91 connector. Semi was flying right and almost tipped over, the driver proceeded to block both lanes as he had to reverse and maneuver to complete the turn. Surprised it's not a daily occurrence right now.

Possible solutions?

Have police at all intersections/interchanges?
Impose a minimum speed limit in the turn lane?
Have a controlled turn signal for trucks only (forces truck to come to complete stop)?
Heavily fine any company + driver for any disruption they cause?

Or turn the intersections into interchanges like they should have been in the first place with correct road curving.

Sorry, don't care about that. Police time, delays for everybody else. This costs us all.

This is getting hilarious. It's becoming a monthly event and the province must know about it. Maybe it's time to post some signs warning truckers to slow down before they navigate through the intersection. Basically stating the obvious.

The circle is where the rollover occured (exiting onto Nordel Connector).

They could rebuild the ramp as shown in red.

Half of the roll overs are when they are turning left from hwy 17 westbound onto the connector.

( that was what happened today)
