Dude, AMLI is already 60% leased and it's been open less than a quarter. Saying the sites around DUS deserve more than 5-story buildings isn't that crazy.

I wondered about Texas also? One click for depression and I found this which is another part of the problem (recently discussed).

Two San Diego-based tech companies relocating their corporate headquarters to downtown Dallas are set to receive a combined $1.45 million in economic incentives from the city on top of a total $12.5 million already promised by the state.
It's a bit hard to fathom why Denver can't compete with this? I know that Texas is generous with incentives but these seem like the type of company relocation that Colorado/Denver would go "all in" on. Certainly Dallas is up and coming perhaps as much as Seattle but a tech attraction? Guess I'm missing that part. Is the Austin buzz spreading?

Upon further inspection I see where a NJ tech company is also relocating their HQ and 1200 employees to a north Dallas suburb (Allen). Not a bad month I'd say. Oh well back to reality.

We could be in an epic highrise boom, but most of it hasn't broken ground. So it's a pretty big highrise boom. Yes one of the larger ones until you get north of the border.
So you're from Seattle, eh? Ah hah, home of the 1978/79 NBA Champion SuperSonics. (No, we don't need to talk about football)

I happen to be snooping the interwebs recently when I stumbled upon THIS which does not include proposed projects. Pretty impressive indeed.

I guess I needed the sarcasm font, AMLI and City House blow. I imagine 1750 AMLI is gonna be just as bad.

Do you know the leasing % at Verve and/or Cadence?

Edit: Actually I found a couple AMLI projects in Austin and Chicago that we we mid/high rises so maybe 1750 won't be so terrible.

Sarcasm in text can ruin friendships man. I apologize for taking you seriously. IIRC, 1750 Little Raven is zoned a little bit strange. Part of the site is 7-stories, the other 3-stories. It'll be interesting to see what happens there, if anything. Regardless, it shouldn't get too much flak from Glass House since their podium is around that height.

I know Cadence is around the halfway leased mark, last time I heard,0nNot sure about Verve. It'll be interesting to see how quickly The Platform is leased up since it's in a higher price tier, according to rumor.

Thumbs up

Ha ha, no worries. City House and AMLI are pretty indefensible uses of space. Hopefully 1750 will be better, I wasn't aware of the zoning on that spot. AMLI doesn't do much interesting stuff though so probably another 5-story stick monster.

It's very possible to build 7 and 3 stories in a single project. *begin Cherry Creek cheerleader* Look at 250 Columbine as a great example. *end Cherry Creek cheerleader* This would be my hope for the Riverfront project.

That would be fantastic for that location or even something like the new Wash Park building on Speer.

Who was it that had the office at 225 and Union and took the pic when they were moving the dirt at that huge lot? Can you take another one of the disgusting waste of filling it up with a massive 3 story match stick apartment complex?

They should move the Christmas market from skyline park and put it here.

Ryan, you should post some of these on the Wikipedia page for DUS, which needs an update.

IMO DUS should find it's own programming to firmly establish it's own identity. I'd be really disappointed if it ends up being downtown's version of Aurora in that everything that happens there was just taken from some other part of the city.

Agreed, cannibalizing Skyline Park to activate this space would be a drastic failure, in my mind. We've been assured this will be Denver's premier public space - well, let's see it stand on its own.

Besides, separating the Christmas Market from the ice skating rink would be foolish. Unless you want to suggest moving the rink out of Skyline Park too...?

EDIT: That all said, if they wanted to move Okteoberfest, I could possibly get on board with that. For a couple reasons - One, Oktoberfest has been kind of stupid since they moved it out of Larimer Square proper. And two, I think it'd be nice to have an off-street location where you could keep some of the tables set up a little longer, outside of just the Lodo-D-bag-drinking-hours.

I thought that moving the rink to DUS was the plan all along. The plans had those fountains turned into a rink in winter. I wouldn't mind having skyline park redeveloped our reduced in size somehow. It would work so much better if there were tall buildings on all sides. That Federal Reserve Bank kind of ruins it for me.

I can't believe they're filling up that location with suburban apartments. I would have expected something 10 - 20 stories.
