Thanks. In my opinion the jury's still out on how fantastic addition 745 Thurlow will be. It has its angles, but...

You're right. It's a bit too early to judge. But even if it's not fantastic, I still think it will be very good.

this building has a dark and foreboding presence on Robson street...it is scale-less and oppressive....the two-buildigns in one idea doesn't make sense relative to its urban context, and the angles are cliches reminiscent of the decon period of the mid 90s...shame on the architects and the city for inflicting such a stupid building on us!

I like it. I've always felt that too much of downtown Vancouver is light and airy. I like downtowns to tower over me. I think it's a pretty nice looking building all around.

It is a good looking building, and it is the perfect scale to transition from the low rises of Robson street to the skyscrapers of Georgia.

This is looking good so far, I like it. I also agree, I think we need some darker towers in Vancouver to mix things up a little bit, and also to provide a visual disturbance from time to time to the standard seafoam and spandrel we have in Vancouver.

I'm surprised to see complaints about a 'dark glass curtainwalled office building' since that seems to be what most people complain we don't have enough of. ???

How is the window washing cart going to work with the angled surfaces? I suppose they cannot use a traditional freely hanging model, as one would not reach the windows at the bottom of the tower.

Its SSP man! Thats what people do, for goodness sake I posted a pic of the MNP tower on the Canada section, expecting positive reactions, instead they have been mostly negative, quite funny actually.

I don't know. I like the building actually. And I like that it's darker. Provides a contrast to most of the buildings in the city look like. It's nice. We need more towers in the downtown core (even in the Broadway core...). Vancouver's a young city for sure, but man, with good urban planning, this city is going to be a great city one day. it can only get better, with good leadership, and excellent planning from urban planners.

On a typically gloomy winter day, he dark glass will probably reflect the cloudy sky nicely - much the way One Wall does.

It's a fallacy that clear glass is "light and airy" because you can see the curtains and furniture inside - quite the opposite of being light and airy.

I think a bigger worry than aesthetics is safety: I dread to think what will happen to the glass when an earthquake or really heavy wind hits...

I like how this is progressing visually, it will be a very nice looking building once completed.
