'Anyone know what these are?'

At first glance I would have said rebar, but could they be LED posts for a water feature?

Yeah, I am starting to get a little worried that the ticker is now not going to happen, even though it was very prominantly displayed on the renders. The Georgia raindrop effect was never as publicly shown / discussed.

this really will be a let down for me regarding how well the rest of the project has come together.

It is like getting a complete ferrari without it being painted.

It is. Anyone watch the neighbourhood video? It mentions, shows and describes in detail the casino as "Vancouver's urban resort" without once calling it a casino or noting that there is a casino in it. Really pushing the line around lying by omission.

I trust that their marketing wizards have made the call based on experience. Just like eliminating the number 4 and other silly things.

There's a bunch of pics of the interior at Artemisia at the link below. definitely a quality building but still the oddest layouts i've seen.

yes, it's both.

the current trend in condos is 'open concept' bathrooms, as shown here.

the newest trend - coming soon to Vancouver - is 'open air' bathrooms to replace otherwise unused balconies and patios.

Looks like these towers would be 35-40 floors. That would be great, as the location could use with a bit taller landmark building. Something below 30 floors is way too short here.

Does this not all point up the necessity of taking the foot off the view-cone control brake pedal? Many buildings in the CBD have already undergone
significant height reductions, to leave the mountains visible. Can't we be a "normal" city and allow for a bit of extra height (like maybe a murderous 40 meters) or 10-15 storeys?
This tree-hugger attitude is really doing little more than depriving the city of a bit of extra dynamism, and the numbers I quoted - while ballpark, of course - are not really excessive.
Or are they?

wow, haha, classic. still, according to wikipedia, vancouver is a respectable 69th in cities with buildings over 100m. to underline again how foolish these media are though, the number 9 spot on that list is occupied by seoul with 282 buildings 100m or over, which is over 10x vancouver's total of 26. very impressed with toronto's growth over the past 10 years too, up to 216 with dozens more under construction or in the works at the moment. could easily be up to seoul's level (and into the top 10 globally) by 2020 if all holds.
