I was trying to find some actual research about 98 14st and I saw this picture:

And It's so funny that all those empty boxes are getting filled...

Now imagine those gaps filled on the left side of this photo. In 6 years our skyline and urban growth will be amazing,breath-taking and freaking awesome, and I can't wait!!!

Most of those holes are already filled, very old pic. 1010 Midtown, 1075 are not even thought about on that pic. 98 14th is going to be on the right or westbound side of 14th street. Good find though.

I was about to say the same... that's from the 12th and Midtown project built in the late 00s. Most aren't filled, but a few are.

Evidently 12th and Midtown will be adding a couple of high-rises on Peachtree and adjacent to 77 12th in the near future. I have no idea what the status of the other lots are.

Has anyone heard anything about 1125 and 1138 peachtree as part of the 12th and Midtown project? I haven't heard or seen anything about the proposals in a few months.

While we are asking for status updates, what the heck is happening with the 33 Peachtree Place apartments? They haven't even done tree removal yet, which they were approved for back in December or January IIRC. I'm going to be so bummed if this project doesn't happen.

Lol. Thats what im saying, I was comparing those pictures like a before and after thing.

1125 is apart of the 12th and midtown and I probably call Crushman & Wakefieldvor what ever the company named and ask about 1138 Peachtree.

Centennial Park Apartments

Situated on two blocks that front Centennial Olympic Park Drive, just north of the location of the 1996 summer Olympic Games, the project site is bisected by Simpson Street. With a 35-foot grade change across the two sites, the architecture along Centennial Hill is traditional while it transitions to more contemporary alongside Centennial Olympic Park. Each block boasts three distinct building styles to preserve the diverse character of the neighborhood and allow a more graceful massing transition as the buildings step down the hill.

it seems to me that they would want to put retail on the williams street side, since that is the side that fronts allen plaza.

Agreed. Of all the lots that need to be developed in Midtown, this one is at the top, IMO. I thought they had their permits and were ready to go, but who knows?

Yeah they had orange X's on all the trees quite a while ago, as well as all those "Call before you dig!" banners everywhere ... but nothing since then.

Maybe building a large building directly overhead a marta line is more problematic than a normal building ...

I respectfully disagree. This looks more like a Perimeter project, than what should be built in density "deserving", prominent downtown block. Just my $.02.

The renders do seem to have a year 2000ish look, perhaps the final elevations will reflect the changes in the urban fabric since the project was originally planned and, perhaps, make a architectural statement regarding the future design standards concerning downtown development.

It's still plenty dense, it's just not tall. Pemberton Place is and will likely remain low density, so two blocks of high density/low rise housing is pretty appropriate as a transitional development between downtown high rises and parkland. A couple of towers would never put this many residential units at ground level, which will help enliven the streets in exactly the way downtown needs so much.

I agree 100 percent with you Atlanta3000. This locations is great for something taller, I would love to see Centennial Park surrounded by residential highrises.

I think we can all agree that it is better than what is there now, which is what has been there for a very long time. I'll take this.

I agree. I don't thinks it's a bad looking rendering. Besides, a towering skyscraper does just the same in terms of number of residential units and it seems like this mid-rise will have a solid retail presence at street level.

I'm certain this will turn out just fine, and it isn't Post's first urban venture.

This is not Manhattan, and Centennial Park is not Central Park. I have no issue with stepped up height from the Park to the core.

The Central Park effect is happening on the West side of Piedmont Park, and I'm fine with that too.

This project is so terribly out of place, it hurts. However, in Downtown's case, anything built is a step forward. Not sure where y'all are seeing retail for this project because it seems there will be zero.
