Interesting. I would not be surprised to see a Starbucks in uptown Dieppe. It would seem a logical spot.

If this were to transpire, that would be Starbucks 7th location in the metro area. I wonder how many they might ultimately be planning on?

I could see one on Mapleton Road, perhaps in Mapleton Crossing (good location in a high profile retail development right by the TCH). Another downtown location as part of (or right next to) the Events Centre would also make sense.

This would leave Riverview as the only underserved neighbourhood in the CMA, but I'm not sure there is enough retail activity in Riverview to justify adding a Starbucks into the mix. It is possible though…..

In any event, I can see 9-10 Starbucks outlets in the metro Moncton area.

I think Starbucks are expanding operations in Atlantic Canada. There are plans to open two new locations in St. John's, I believe that'll give SJ 7 locations... and counting.

3+ has issues a press release stating that Premier Alward will be hosting an economic development announcement today at l'Hotel de Ville in Dieppe. I believe it to be at 1:30pm.

Further to the above, reading the T&T today, this expansion to CE3 will result in a total workforce of about 110-120 people, mostly in high tech and engineering positions.

The new facility they will be building will be on Aviation Blvd. I wonder where this will be? Myles - any ideas???

Some staff there say they have a meeting today during which they'll all be handed their walking papers.
I'm hearing talk of a major redevelopment for this property which will be something completely different.
As far as I'm concerned, I'll wait to hear it from the horse's mouth rather than spread rumours that might or might not be true.

Well, this is interesting,

This is the third time now over the last 18 months or so that the rumour of a major redevelopment for Crystal Palace has cropped up in the forums. There may be some traction to this rumour. It's like Victoria's Secret at Champlain Place. That rumour was around for at least 3 years and ultimately prooved to be true. Frequently where there is smoke there is fire.......

I wonder what this redevelopment could be? I can't imagine it involving the whole property. The Cineplex theatre is barely a year in from it's construction. Chapter's is also likely safe. How about the Ramada Hotel?

I think most everything else could be up for grabs though.

Someone once mentioned this as a site for Bass Pro Shops. Since they have yet to announce their Moncton location, I wonder if this could be a possibility??

That's my guess. But it's purely a guess at this point. Been hearing this a very long time but never really put any credence in it. It doesn't seem like a place they would tend to move to, but hey who knows? Redevelop everything but the theatres/book store, add on to the building, and viola, we've got us a BPS!

It will be a loss to be sure. Crystal Palace was one of the "big three" in Moncton (along with the zoo and Magic Mountain) which helped define our city as a family friendly vacation destination.

I wonder if the owners of Magic Mountain would consider purchasing the rides at Crystal Palace and building an indoor facility at Magnetic Hill adjacent to Magic Mountain? That could give them a year tourism destination........

Does This mean they will bridge the gap between the mall and that area to add new shope and HUUMM to have Bass Pro go in there would be huge!!

If they do that, they'd better consider a monorail or moving sidewalk inside cuz the sprawl of Champlain Place is practically a metaphor of Moncton's footprint.

nothing official but it appears that crystal palace is shutting down september first and the amusement park is to be converted to Bass Pro shop.
