The VP of Real Estate for Bed Bath and Beyond has confirmed they have been working with East Point, and will be visiting the site this summer.

Yes I believe you will see some new delopements along Bayside.
More fast food for sure. With this new exit road that just opened, it has taken a fair amount of traffic away from Rothesay Avenue. It may take a little while, but it will happen.

I had heard that a McDonalds was going to be built along there somewhere.

McDonalds is supposed to go in somewhere close to the car wash. I expect there will be something there by fall. Irving/JDI workers alone will keep it going not to mention all the other traffic going by.

I'm not sure if this was part of the new retail, but I noticed yesterday Mr Lube has a sign up, along Westmoreland beside Princess Auto, saying coming soon. There is another sign indicating this beside the chained link fence around the perimeter of their new location between Home Depot and the Starbuck locations.

Please tell us there is more to expect than this.

The Home Hardware store on the west side has gone through a major face lift. I wonder if the new Kent store sped up this project? Either way the store needed this for quite a while. I'll try to snap a few photos.

Yes there is lots planning to come to Saint John. Some will wait for the pending announcements (industrial projects). Keep the faith folks.....Saint John is poised for some great news!

The old Co-op building lot on Fairville Blvd is undergoing some activity. A half decent rumour is it will be the West sides first Starbucks.

Asked in October 2012 if Mary Brown's would be opening in Saint John, MB replied that the same franchise owner opening a location in Fredericton is looking at other NB locations.

What caught my eye on that job posting was the email: [email protected] . Is MB affiliated with St. Hubert at all? I can't find any information backing this up.

This job posting, from five days ago on Kijiji, lists the Mary Brown's location as being on Hubert Street.

It's unfortunate that cities agree to this corporate naming of streets. Moncton has a Marriot hotel on Marriot drive and the new Cabela's on Cabela court.

A few retail tidbits.

Looks like Laura is now open in McAllister Place, and Pseudio will be opening a location there as well as they are currently hiring.

Also - Tweed & Hickory at East Point is closing. Can't say that I'm surprised with that one though. It used to do quite well. But they seemed quite mismanaged there, and customer service was lacking, and people just seemed to stop going, and avoided them like the plague. (Myself included.)

The company recently closed stores in other cities as well. Hopefully this will open their eyes to their issues, and correct them before they close the remaining stores.

Mary Browns will be opening next to Weight Watchers in Hubert Street. Hopefully they can secure Second Cup soon for the vacant St Hubert building. That would be a nice addition.

Menchies across the street that opened less than a year ago appears to have steady business, and seem to be doing okay. I'm actually quite pleasantly surprised to see this. Good for them!

Petsmart and Bed Bath and Beyond are still on track to visit East Point this summer. So hopefully we will hear good news from them shortly.

And the excavation for Mr. Lube on Depot Court seems steady. Construction should be starting pretty soon.

I am almost certain it is - I know some folks at Starbucks uptown and they tell me some are moving over to the new Westside store when it opens - I know its on Fairville...assuming it's this lot.

Awesome! My parents still live West, good to know I can get a coffee while in that part of town. For a blue collar town we seem to have a lot of Starbucks.
