And loving this one too. My only problem here is that the TO is skyline looks out of balance. Once upon a time the FCP made a pinnacle impression, but now it's been upstaged by that random condo tower, turning the TO skyline into a tabletop shape. Now the only way TO can get out of that is to build a 400m skyscraper.

Well skylines are never static, and that is more so true in Toronto than anywhere else in Canada. Currently, Harbourplaza which is a twin tower complex of about 225-230 meters is under construction, as well as the 174 meter One York Tower and 224 meter 10 York tower. And proposed to the east and west are new towers which will be relatively close to the lake and build tall pillars on either side of the tradition skyline, buildings like One Yonge, Oxford Place, 45 Bay, and 60 York come to mind in addition to the last phase of Cityplace which should get near 230 meters and the Eastern Harbourfront where Daniels is plotting some ridiculous and tall tower. The evolving skyline is a work in progress, never quite finished to make a final assessment.

Personally, I don't have nearly as much of a problem with surface parking lots when they're clearly outside the urban fabric, in areas that have never been built up anyway.

A waterfront in a historic district should be a place of beauty, gardens, sculptures, fountains, et . Not ugly parking lots as if we were near a shopping mall. This is a major fail on the part of the Societé du VieuxPort. Hell, the beach could be enlarge. But this is Montreal... People need their stupid parking lots.
