I agree. It still has a certain "big time" look as compared to the south side which has real style, but looks tiny... more like it was built for NASL crowds as compared to the CFL.

Those new north side seats that go right down to field level look crazy low, though. Considering that those are the priciest regular seats ($150/game), I would imagine that they will offer — views compared to the much cheaper tickets just a few rows up.

Football isn't like baseball or hockey... you need to be a few rows up to get an ideal view of the game. The fact that the end zone corner seats on the south side aren't raised at all is a little troubling... it seems like it was designed by someone with no idea about the proper sightlines for football. Endzone seats should be at least 7 feet above the surface, otherwise the people in the first few rows will be reduced to watching the game on the jumbotrons.

Like I said. Seats and turf will change everyone's mind about the timeline. i looked at the pics on stadiumDB and thought to myself....this stadium is 2 months away from being 2 months away. 10 seconds later I scroll down and see the turf and I released the panic button I am curious about the jumbtron though. Ottawa hasn't even got theirs yet. maybe the installation only takes a day or 2?

By the looks of the photos on stadiumDB, THF won't be finished in 2014 let alone this month, but it looks like the Cats will have to find a way to make it work for lack of alternatives...

3 weeks to go and look at this!

you will need to rehost those pictures - that site doesn't allow direct linking to their pics

What an annoying website. In any event, the July 1 round of pics on that site clearly show the extent of work that remains to be done. We're hardly talking about a paint job and polishing the glass... there is lots of actual construction to do.

According to a poster on the TiCats forums who was just at the site - the steel sturucture for the screen was delivered this morning

jesus. i can see them working 24 hours shifts in the week before the home opener. just to get all the safety things put in like railings, fire sprinklers, stairwells, exits. pretty sure the east side lower level is still dirt. wonder if it will be paved over by the home opener

one things for sure, these next 23 days will sure be exciting

I think this would be a cool solution for Calgary (although on a slightly bigger scale 19-20K Arena and 35-38K stadium)

It's been mentioned a few times on here as a rumour that the Flames are considering something similar. They own both teams and want to control the venue/parking, etc

I love the original VTB design and agree it would be perfect for Calgary but unfortunately that thing costs 750 million and still wouldn't be big enough! Sigh...

FYI: they have more renders here: http://stadiumdb.com/designs/rus/vtb_arena

and here: http://www.manicaarchitecture.com/projects/stadia/6-vtb-arena-park

Manica does real nice work, IMO

Will Tim Horton’s Field be ready?
Ted Michaels AM900 CHML July 03, 2014

As construction workers race to get Tim Horton’s Field somewhat ready for the July 26 home opener versus Ottawa, a bit more progress is being made inside the stadium.

The turf is starting to be placed down.

A meeting is being held this afternoon in Toronto between the city of Hamilton, Infrastructure Ontario and Toronto 2015 to discuss a wide variety of issues, including a stadium update.
