How can the county promote the increase in total Salt Palace square footage when the increase isn't connected to the existing Salt Palace? They can't! So while many property owners may think they are the running for CCH, in all reality very few are.

When was there ever a promise of an underground tunnel or bridge?

All convention center hotels have convention space. Again, look at Denver. We aren't reinventing the wheel guys. This is a check off mark lots of mid-sized cities have. Denver bonded and tax incentived theirs as well. Same requirements. Once we get the private sector involved we're going to get the same kind of thing the private sector has given other cities with the same kind of incentives and needs. So Denver is a fine example of something we should expect.

Zion's Bank was approached about their parking lot long before the PRI property was even considered.

I heard about the future plans for a new zion's bank headquarters tower less than two years ago, which is more than 5 years after the Zion's Bank/Gateway Tower East remodel was completed.

Well, with property abundant in downtown SLC, I'm sure they would be ok with departing from the land at a fair market price. If anything it's a win, they could buy another piece of land that doesn't have historical hot potatoes included.

You really think zion's would give up an address like 100 south Main Street?

They already have future plans for their parcel involving a headquarters tower. This is why the theater didn't go there.

Did you attend the meetings for the theatre proposal, because when I was at a few the selling feature for choosing the land they did was because it would have been a massive bitch to renovate / redevelop. Much of that built space was for printing presses and paper pick up infrastructure. Like the old fortress malls that became city creek, it was deemed better to wipe it out than try to rehab it. The city and interested business partners like the LDS church all wanted it gone. Some of the more iconic buildings that made the land difficult to redevelop were deemed necessary casualties. If you think the same thinking can't apply to a convention center hotel on the Dinwoody site, I would ask for some context to base your assumed immunity of the structure.

Arrow Press Square is made up of multiple property owners. Zion's bank only owns one of the buildings.

Whereas Royal Wood Plaza, as well as the Parking Lot at 300 West 100 South, are each owned by a single property owner.

Additionally, Arrow Press Square is arguably more historical than other options.

Exactly right, and this is why I said Royal Wood is the most likely because it is the path of least resistance (certainly much easier than the site of Dinwoody we have been discussing at length).

But let's really look at the Arrow Press Property, the power company owns a transformer, there is a burned out building, there is parking, and a building full of restaurants like the naked fish. It doesn't seem impossible to work something out.
