I do as well, I go out of my way to do so. It's hard to take the North End and this street in particular out of my time growing up in the neighborhood.

^ I often drive down Selkirk too if I'm in the neighbourhood, but unfortunately there aren't that many places that draw me in for a stop these days.

I can't disagree or make a case for destination locations as I used too. Being involved in the Polish community, the 1st several blocks and a work location stretched from Main St., Novaks Gas Station, Gunns, small stores, groceries etc..the Credit Union, Church, Polish School, Butcher etc. up to Salter Ave.

The stretch after this consisted of many little restaurants, some furniture stores etc.

The Majority of this area and stops in to every possible location along the route after Salter Ave. consisted of other work related issues in the legal/enforcement field up to McPhilips and actually past it along Selkirk ave.

Just perfect. That is precisely what that area needs... a sensible transition between the greenery of The Forks and the urban grid on the other side of the tracks. I hope it gets built in exactly that manner.

Love it. I'm normally not a huge fan of the big green wide-open plazas, but if there's one place in town where they would be an appropriate choice, it's at The Forks.

The level of density is great, and I like the terrace idea. Where is the parking in that photo, though? (The fact that it isn't immediately obvious is a huge credit to the design)

there is a big parkade along the rail line hidden behind the terraced park. The terrace rises up to its roof. The roof is also active. If you look at the plan the parkade is kind of T shaped in grey between the two towers. The ground level view shows doors leading into the hill to the parkade behind.

The idea is to provide a new type of greenspace…one with some elevation change. A place of contemplation facing the museum…maybe with public art as well as bike and walking paths. Hopefully connections will be made to future rapid transit on the raised rail line and across to new development on main street. Parcel 4 is a more urban development with higher buildings to create a link to downtown. The hope is more urban plaza-ish.

its a masterplan, not a development proposal.....parkade is through a tiif, then an RFP process to developers for each parcel within a set of design and development guidelines.

What's the glass building south of the Union Station access? It isn't included in the model, but is shown on the renderings.
