There were many complaints at the public hearing , including a petition signed by 60-some owners of the Marquise Grande to the south. The city sent them back to the draft board and they came back with this:

So we can thank those complainers for the unique and interesting design of this building. The fact that it offers fewer views towards the cemetery is just an unintended byproduct.

Yogiderik, I'm pretty sure there is one more to go after this one.

The colour swatches are quite important for this building as it has those very large concrete pillars on the back which are highly unusual and the colour/texture of them will really stand out.

Would they paint the undersides of the balconies the same colour as those blank walls?
They have different light exposure, so you'd think they'd paint them different shades of the same colour.

is there one of these plans for phase II? interested to see just how it will sit on the property compared to phase I and the neighbouring building.

They are both very sleek looking buildings. Phase II is an interesting height considering the scale of the immediate neighbours. Hydro substation to south west , cemetery to the north and west, and warehousing to the east. It will be interesting to see the heights of what ever will finally be built on to the south along Gilmour between Halifax and Lougheed.

As referenced in the above post with the cool angle from the developer, they have reached the 'roofdeck', so, no more floors to go.

Here's a pic from yesterday of the beginning of the concrete curved design element on the back of the building. After seeing the beautiful pics from Yellow Fever, I apologize for the phone-quality pics.

That last shot from Yellow Fever of the front townhouses has square white composite pieces on the outer walls. I think that, rather than painting the rear concrete pillars in the back, they are going to be covered in the same white material. Should look really nice, I think.

No kidding, plus theres some nice buildings going up there. Aviara is a jewel for sure.

I think SoLo will be quite impressive, and who knows what Onni has planned for Gilmore.

Im also secretly hoping the second Brentwood Mall tower gets a pass on some extra height, maybe take the crown for tallest in region.

Should be fun to watch.

I love seeing buildings go up without being sold out at pre-sales. Makes me feel that we might be close to having a sane market here (or perhaps excess supply!).
