Wow. That was quick. Though, I think those are going to be pounded into the ground for piling or for shoring of the site excavation. I know there isn't any underground parking, but isn't there underground mechanical and utility rooms? There's got to be a lot more work to be done before we start to see steel rise. Or am I mistaken?

That was my assumption too that it was some sort of steel for retaining walls etc, but no matter what it is, it's progress. It also appears that they triangular framing to the north of the steel is driving pylons into the ground.

I believe the basement of 111 South main tower will be a lot like 222's. No underground parking, but there was two underground levels for mechanical and such. The digging and basement work should take as long as say 99 West's that had four levels of underground parking under it.

At least two cranes will be needed for this development I'm sure. One tower crane for 111 and one or two smaller cranes for the PAC.

They are tearing into the basement of the Prudential Building and pounding lots of steel into the ground in the 111 building area.

Nothing too dramatic to report or photo document on the site this week:

They keep pounding steel into the ground around the building 111 site.

They keep excavating the basement of the Prudential Building.

They moved more rubble off the site.

The footing for the crane tower is now cased in concrete where it meets the ground.
