Finally got a good look at the new signes on the BOA tower and it's BOA lol. After all these years, they just now decided to put their branding on the tower. I wonder if there was any reason why they didn't before now?

New owners of the building. Stream bought the block from Tom Stacy a few years back. Having one's logo affixed to the outside of a tower is another revenue source for the owner of the building. Guess Tom didn't want logos on the outside of his buildings (or at least this one).

Does anyone know anything about, or have any info pertaining to the Estancia Hill Country project? It's supposed to be a multi purpose development in Manchanca. The last Bit of info I could find was from June 23rd, 2013 and it was approved for road and drainage construction.

Land is still being cleared from what I can tell. They could very well be putting in drainage and whatnot. I drive by there every now and then.

The Downtown Austin Alliance commissioned a $35K study by Urban3LLC out of Ashville, NC of the correlation between Ausitin's density and tax value, and to no one's surprise it concluded that....

I read the article today, it had a 'Mr Obvious' feel to it. I forget how much was paid for this study, but it was in the 5 figures. Maybe the COA was just looking for affirmation, that what they are doing is working and that they shouldn't let up. But I'm pretty sure they could have done their own appraisal for free.

It doesn't take rocket science to know how important the vitality of Downtown and the urban core is. I agree that the city could have done it on their own but I am glad they had a 3rd party come in to verify.

The study was done by the DAA, not the City of Austin.

Mayor Pro Tem Sheryl Cole speaking at the groundbreaking for the new 10-story, 300 room, duel-branded Holiday Inn Express/Hotel Indigo. These rooms look to run at far below the area average which in my opinion is pretty great.

Come on guys it doesn't look that terrible. Plus not everything in Austin needs to look fabulous, and see it as more infill that we need around the city.
