^ A lot's happened in a year. I'm noticing substantial difference on a month-by-month basis. The appearance of change when three of four storeys are added is far more pronounced on a mid-rise building than a high-rise. There's also some more subtle things I'm beginning to notice in the landscaping, particularly that most street trees don't look like saplings any longer. The trees in the silvacells along the seawall are growing like weeds! That's a tremendously strong case study and success story for the widespread use of silvacells for street trees or trees in largely hard-surfaced areas with compacted soil.

Speaking of street trees, are they seriously forgoing planting street trees along West 2nd after doing new construction?
They won't start anytime soon, they will need to go thru the development permit process. I'd say we're looking at early 2015 or so.
from what I heard, quebec-facing residents for onni's central will have views of the creek for about 3 years so 2015 plus 2 years of construction seems to be about right
