Man, you can already tell that One Bloor is going to completely transform the intersection, if not the entire feel of Bloor-Yorkville. Whereas the area used to feel like it was just on the periphery of downtown, someone standing at Yonge & Bloor will soon feel like they're in the heart of downtown.

The towers on Yorkville, Cumberland, and Davenport will make you feel encased in Skyscrapers when standing at Yonge and Bloor. Not too much longer now... Downtown pushing north and west...

Downtown Toronto needs a street-wall zoning law like New York,

These puny 2-3 story podiums (like the one on L Tower) are unacceptable.

The first major concrete pour at Brookfield Place begins this evening. It should go through the whole weekend, something like 5 000 tons of concrete.

Well... L Tower does incoporate a heritage structure into its base so I'm willing to look beyond it's puny wing. The majority of podium designs are 20 to 36 metres in height. Regardless, I hate podiums. Makes things a bore. Is it really that much more for an additional elevator and stairwells to build a tower and separate midrise in the case of The Mercer. And, of course every twin tower development shares a podium. IMO, The fewer the better.

8 months from the beginning of excavation to the foundation pour. That's pretty fast.
