Very interesting, thanks for posting!

Crude photo I captured today while they blocked off northbound lanes for 5 minutes or so to facilitate construction. Guideway segments are being lifted up right as we speak in the section between the third and fourth northernmost columns in the median of North Road. In other words, as you can see in the image, the guideway is now only two columns away from Foster Ave.

I think you are overblowing this queetz. Yes the Lougheed station spur was kind of an eyesore because it was visible from almost everywhere. It was visible from all along Gatineau St, from the bus loop, from the Sears outlet centre & parking lot, from the White Spot, from the Lougheed Mall parking lot, from the Shell Station, etc... However, the spur at Coquitlam Station will be tucked in behind the station in-between the station and some trees that line the West Coast Express Station. You wont be able to see it from anywhere unless you actually trek south of the station towards the trees or are actually walking as a pedestrian on the Mariner overpass. It's pretty hard to see anything from a vehicle on the overpass unless you are riding in a really high vehicle. You wont even be able to see it from the West Coast Express station as it is clear from the pics the trees will block the view from the WCE platform. I'm glad they are building it.

Lincoln Stations - All columns around the station are completed. They are now working on the Pinetree crossing

Lafarge Lake - They are currently building the stairs between street and platform level.

Are there still plans for future stations at Queens and Falcon or has that been shelved? Or maybe are there new locations for infill stations?

West Port Moody and Falcon are being built to accomodate future stations.

The Lougheed Station spur prior to the Evergreen Line contruction has been such a huge pet peeve of mine, just couldn't stand it for over a decade...
I think a decent option would be built it out long enough to park a 6-car Mark I or 5-car Mark II and use it as a pocket track until/if the line gets extended. A few metres of unused guideway aren't enough to be useful, but a pocket track could at least be used for storage or training in the meantime.

How much would an extension to PoCo station cost? 2.5km following the existing rail right of way - it doesn't seem it would be that expensive

You know that's how I always felt about the third platform at Lougheed station. Why oh why were the tracks not installed in the third platform guideway all these years so it could have actually been used to store a train like Stadium station for the past decade. That's something that always boggled my mind.

As for Coquitlam station, being the closest station to the new storage facility I dont think the ability to store a train would be useful.

A one station extension to downtown Port Coquitlam could become a reality in the future, after Broadway and Surrey are taken care of. In terms of cost, I would estimate it to be roughly about $175-200 million using statistics that indicate the cost of SkyTrain per kilometre, which in the case of the Millennium Line, was around $70 million/km in 2012 dollars.

Anyway, here's a pic I took from Henderson Place of Lincoln Station on June 14th:

I can guarantee all of you that it's going to be lower than even this. And when it comes, I think it'll be an interesting indicator of the raw costs of elevated guideway.

The Milllennium Line's costs did account for fancier stations, a brand new fleet, testing for this brand new fleet, some Expo Line refits for this brand new fleet, OMC expansions for this brand new fleet, some tunnel sections in addition to the components you would expect, and traffic management (since huge portions were built over-street; whereas just about the entirety of a Port Coquitlam extension would be built over a railway ROW with next to no property acquisition and property management requirements and little in terms of fleet requirement).

Honestly, I see the affordability prospect of a PoCo extension to be so good that I can imagine an extension of the line coud continue down Kingsway Ave and terminate in front of the Coast Meridian Overpass. Maybe even further, but that extent should be enough.

The guideway segment from this pic is still not 100% complete, its actually missing one piece of as this morning, but it should be completed for today. I think the crane and possibily the guideway segment will be over Foster Avenue by the end of the week at the rate they are going.

One thing interesting I saw this morning was the Lougheed steel guideway. The end part by Gatineau Place is now covered in concrete. But sadly, I wasn't able to take a pic because a truck was blocking my view when the light was red.

Love this song. Feels like my current life anthem.

The slow-mo spitting at the Skytrain station was disgusting tho, but good video otherwise. Down to earth real hip hop.

I heard on the radio on my way home. Wow! What a hassle! I guess we won't be seeing the guideways at North Road completed by summer...

http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showpost.php?p=6604555&postcount=5602

shows how it is supposed to sit on the concrete base.

It appears those snaps show the crane system just two concrete bases north of the failure location.

are they really cutting corners with the E line construction? this isn't a new process of building guide-ways in the GVRD.

i don't remember the millennium line construction, but for the Canada Line they were going a lot faster (if i remember right about 1 section every 3-4 days). i don't remember any of these "failures" happening with that. yet there have been 2 relatively close together.

These incidents combined with the wildly varying spacers between column and guideway start to paint a picture of corner cutting or incompetence.

The funny thing is the media has hardly been covering this, especially compared to the Como Lake incident. I guess the Enbridge pipeline approval is grabbing all the headlines, or maybe this incident is simply not that big a deal and things will be back to normal tomorrow?

From the Province....

Except for the crushed platform seen at the right, it seems the gantry is okay and being moved forward per normal. We shall find out in the morning, I guess...
