Thanks to Brook Lenfest for sending this to me! I think it's great that he is keeping this forum so involved.

I actually like how this render show the Ritz Dome and how the facing elements at the bottom of the W sort of work to integrate and transition the architectural stylings to soften the change - actually to me seems to work really well and makes a good transition while still maintaining identity

The opposite side of the new Ritz (condos) versus redone (hotel) seem to just be more stark - not as thoughtful

the shame to me is that this isn't on the new sq and the Ritz tower here.

would have loved a higher elevation outdoor lounge for personal benefit (many newer Ws seem to have this) - dont see other than the patio that would appear on 15th - hopefully with outdoor cocktail space

When this opens we will have a SSP cocktail hour ha!

Either way really love the rendering and like the proposal and am excited for this get underway

I do too. I think I said this to you in PhiladelphiaSpeaks, but I wish the stone would continue further up, kind of dissipating as it rises. That would be a unique element considering the way the blocks do that at the top.

I can't wait to see a nighttime rendering. They can do wild things lighting up those funky blocks at the top.

The American Institute of Architects national convention will return to Philadelphia in 2016. Last time was 2000.

It just keeps getting better! How long before we start seeing more proposals for hotels on North Broad, Race, and Vine Streets? I've been here for ten years and I never thought I'd say that Philadelphia is doing things right

I'm loving this design! At this height this one should be fairly visible from South Broad and the stadiums? I think it will play nicely off of the RATR next door too.

These renderings really serve to stir up the excitement for this W. They are fun to study and anticipate floor layouts and features of this cool hotel. A skyscraper hotel is just the place to show off restaurants and lounges with views. Keep the renderings coming and build up a fan base for this beauty!

Home run. It's that simple. I know where I'll be booking my staycations.

I was just thinking the same thing! I want to stay there for a night just for the pool and garden!

This should start first. Dranoff said demo of the building on SLS site would begin this winter so to me that means you wont see construction until spring 2015. I certainly hope this project is well underway by that time.

Didn't mention race, but thanks for showing me so much love. And for the record, I dont think tenure on this forum or any other justifies commentary that is in poor taste or reflective of personal prejudices. Not sure I understand that line of thinking. In addition, the "non-development" comments were made by others, I merely responded because I found them repugnant and ignorant.

Development is largely about making money so any national establishment that can afford the rents in CC and turn a profit will consider having a location here. That would include fast food places. Not every place is going to be a white table cloth, high end place. An urban center needs a diversity of offerings to really thrive.

Look, I don't want to rehash anything from days ago. I have no problems with you personally and the last few days clearly show that you are here to talk about development. I just felt that your assumptions and conclusions regarding the other poster's comments were way off base and unfounded. I also felt that this thread was being derailed as a result.

I am not a moderator and I do not (and should not) have control over what others post here, however, I do have an my opinions and I was sharing mine there. I do apologize if my post added any drama to this thread. I was simply frustrated with the direction it was going.

Lets move on and look forward to this great project being built, along with the astounding number of other great developments in the pipeline for Philly.

You really have to bring this up again?! I am friggin' sick of reading about this here. Go to a more appropriate website please if you want to continue this conversation any further. That will be much appreciated by almost everyone here.
