No hate mail .....please .

Two quick little things . Did anyone catch the channel six article about tugs moving the barges along side the Spruce St. pier . That should be a one hell of an improvement and another great place to enjoy the waterfront .

I read about the 14ft. tall Lit Brothers sign . Personally , I really like the facade of the Lits building and adding that sigh on the roof would only detract from the beautiful architecture that IS the Lit Brothers building .... But then I didn't like the idea of adding that twenty story addition to the back of Lits , either . :kook:

If it ain't broke , don't fix it .......

i hope this happens but im sure everyone will be skeptical until ground is broken. The bigger the proposed project in Philly, the less likely it ever gets started. We've got so many large projects in the proposal stage now but few are actually underway- hopefully that wont be the case in 6 months.

right, no fried chicken establishments in CC proper!

The higher the rents go on chestnut, the more likely it will be that the tenants will be chains and not local operations. And fast food type places can definitely be counted amongs those that can afford higher rents.

That would be an excellent policy. Glad you have had a change of heart on this issue.

Have to reluctantly agree on the NP International project. Looking at their website..., they talk about four generations of big time development in US and Latin America. However, looking at their recent projects (and all projects listed on the site), there's nothing near the scale they are planning with this Riverwalk development. Most of it is smaller commercial/residential projects/re-development in the 4-5 stories mode. Smaller projects in Baltimore too.

On the bright side, they did spend a lot of time with neighbors and making these plans according to all accounts, so who knows --maybe this is for real...

I want to see some cranes first though.

I'm all for good fried chicken. Federal Doughnuts is literally around the corner. Places like Popeyes is a magnet for uniformed consumers--which I am firmly against...

I posted the exact same concern a month ago.

I'm pretty skeptical about this one--8 acre development, 63 combined stories, public plaza, retail, hospitality, etc. - in a very complicated and expensive city to develop anything in--and all by a developer with ZERO track record of anything to this scale.

we can remain hopeful that at least PART of it gets done. I wouldnt hold my breath on seeing that entire project coming to fruition. Seems too large and pricey for the realities of this market. One thing is for sure, there should be some interesting things coming up for CDR in the coming months.

exactly, they have no right to patronize CC establishments. Stay above Girard Ave. Or is that too far south? BTW, when you mention uniforms are you talking about students or lower wage, blue color workers? Perhaps both?

Is this meant to be sarcastic? Because if not, it's a very silly post.

definitely sarcastic. I am actually shocked (ok maybe not) that some people are comfortable expressing such philly.com comment section worthy view on here. I presumed this was a more sophisticated group of posters. People on philly.com hate Philadelphia (while claiming the hate they spew is really about love for the good old days in Philly) and I thought this site would attract more people who actually like and appreciate the diversity of urban environments.

Way too far south. Try Olney Ave . . . no, fcuk it, the Arctic m'fcukin Circle!

But in all seriousness, it's great this board finally has a champion for the uniformed uninformed little people.
