A site plan was filed today for a West Campus apartment high rise. The elevations start on page 7 on the "PLANS75%" attachment. It looks to be 19 stories with 176 apartments.

It will be on San Antonio and 21st - right next to the 17-story Callaway House.

I did some squinting and measuring, and the mechanical penthouse roof looks to be another 6 feet. So 189 feet I guess.

Anyway, that would make it taller than 2400 Nueces, but shorter than Callaway House and 21Rio.

By the way, I'm wondering if this is that rumored "West Campus Tower" that we had heard about? That project was supposedly 175 feet with 15 floors. It was supposedly planned for West 22nd & San Antonio.

I'm looking forward to seeing some renderings. Check out the facade on the building's east side along San Antonio Street. It looks to have some exposed cantilevered columns.

Here's the elevation showing the cantilevered columns. The name of this project by the way, is the ever so original and inspiring "University House."

I live in San Antonio, but got to go to Austin over the weekend. I'm so jealous of all the cranes around downtown!!!!!!!

Nice photo. It's neat how the Gables Park Tower reflects in the glass of The Bowie. I caught that last weekend. I hadn't really noticed until then. And I'm impressed with the way Seven is turning out. It appears taller than I expected.

I just caught the end of a story on KXAN that the water park U/C in Pflugerville has stopped paying construction contractors and stopped answering their phone.

It's a shame that Schlitterbahn didn't build their proposal in Cedar Park. I would have preferred them over a typical run of the mill minor scale water park chain with more than 30 locations all over the place and the next closest one in Waco. WACO of all places has a water park and its by the same company. Sorry if I sound underwhelmed but at least there is a local connection with Schlitterbahn and it only has one park outside of Texas and just 2 others along the coast besides their home location.

I guess it doesn't matter, it's not like I would ever go to Hawaiian Falls since Its more convenient and less of a hassle for me to go to Schlitterbahn in NB since i live in South Austin.

I believe this park is actually bigger than what the proposed Schlitterbahn was going to be in Cedar Park. Also, why does it matter if they have 30 locations (actually just 7, mostly in D/FW area) all over the place? Most will just go to their local location anyway.

I'm sentimental about it and biased toward Schlitterbahn. We went so many times when I was a kid. Also my dad was German, so all the funny German names are a treat. I've never been to another one, and it would be strange to do so. Also, we once met one of the guys who started Schlitterbahn at the Adobe Mexican Food Cafe in New Braunfels.

I agree, I'm heavily biased toward Schlitterbahn. Like especially with the Texasdeutsch community in Central Texas, and the German community throughout the state, I feel like the German theme fits. Hawaiian Falls seems so random and out-of-the-blue comparatively, especially in a town called Pflugerville.

Hmmph....Hawaiian Falls may not be as big as...but it is here, it is expandable, and it is a needed attraction for our locale. The Adventure Park should also be pretty cool. The wave pool is as big as 3 football fields and supposedly will create 3 foot waves. Many people I talked to are excited about this park which should provide relief from the summer heat. The alternative right now is...well...nothing. They came to town and did what they said they would, build a water park. Schlitterbahn did not. I'm going to drive by it tomorrow and check it out. I'm sure they will be adding slides and attractions as time goes by so it will only get better. I guess in a few days, we'll hear the reviews from the patrons. They will probably be mixed.

I've never been to a water park.
