Muskoka resident who lives near the rehab facility where Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is seeking treatment says he spotted Ford’s black SUV parked in a wooded area near the facility a few days before it was impounded by police.

Andrew MacIver, a 22-year-old university student, says he saw Ford’s black Escalade parked in a secluded side road just a few hundred metres away from GreeneStone Clinic, the rehab facility where the mayor is undergoing treatment for substance abuse.

MacIver, who works as a bartender in Bala, Ont., says he first spotted the SUV at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning after he was returning home from a night shift.

The car was no longer parked in the area later the next morning, but MacIver says he spotted the SUV again on Monday.

“On Sunday, (I) went to work and returned at 4 a.m. Monday – the SUV was back on the road,” MacIver told CP24 on Saturday.

A midnight stroll in the woods with a waiting car is not one of the 12 steps.

How would that be possible since it's been impounded since May 21st?

Wealthy people tend to be some of the worst criminal offenders, at least this small beans kinda stuff. Substance abuse, traffic offenses, petty crimes. Just look at Hollywood.

It's when they go on shooting rampages that you really shake your head. But it just goes to show that "every advantage" doesn't mean what it should.

Kathy Ford looks like a considerable portion of the middle-aged womenry of European descent in Thunder Bay. I half expect her to yell something in Ukrainian and throw a pyrogi at me.

While it probably wasn't the best choice on his part, I'm actually going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.... which is probably the first time I have ever done that! He was at a family restaurant (not a bar) with his kids. Even at legit, non-resort rehabs you can usually get a night off for that. I mean, I'd still like to know the details of how he ended up at a restaurant a 15 minute drive from his cottage but a 45 minute one from rehab with his kids and a woman that isn't his wife.

A friend's sister saw him there (the one in the pic I think) and said he appeared to be drinking orange juice. And wasn't wasted.

Well, he does look sober in that picture, sans the dimwitted grin he usually sports

I wonder how much weight he'll lose while in rehab?

Now, I guess there is a candidate named Nikki Benz - whom is potentially running for office. (🞵🞵🞵🞵 star.)

Hmmmm.

"Trade in your Ford for a Benz." Lol!!!

If he could lose the 230 or 240lbs of Doug he carries around it would do him a world of good too.

Indeed it would, but it would take more than a couple of months in rehab to accomplish that, I'm afraid.
