This has already been addressed. A larger metro area is obviously going to have a larger downtown.

Living in this neighborhood, considering it's town home styled, is the kind of thing that will not add any sort of foot traffic to the COP area that's organic. We've got more than enough destination traffic but very little to offer residents of the area. Post's development next to the Biltmore exemplifies what I don't want to see any more of in Atlanta, much less my neighborhood. I'd much prefer the previous proposal as someone posted. Almost every developed lot around it is mid to high-rise. Something 30 isn stories to match it's neighboring tower, Museum Tower. Aloft retrofitting next store would be highly complimented by some retail in the blocks near it, though I would like to see that property filled in with something much higher in density. After all, this is Skyscraper Page

Does anyone know the retail going into Emory's new Proton Therapy Center?I noticed the other day the render on site shows Starbucks, Zara, and Design Within Reach. Are these really going in here or are they placeholders? i know someone had mentioned Starbucks before, but I don't remember details.

I've been away from Atlanta for several years (a city in which I regularly used to stay in for stints at a time).

It's been a pleasure following the city's progress since I've been gone, thanks to all the contributors!

Thanks for posting that rendering, I was wondering what was going to happen at the street level there.

Aren't there still long term plans to build a tower on that corner? Really would like to see some appropriate density next to BOA.

University House and Centergy North are on the climb.

Centergy North is moving veryyy quick. I imagine because they're not putting in any podium parking.

They're also putting some brick on Viewpoint's retail. They're doing a good job of breaking up that facade along Peachtree. I think even though architecturally it's just decent, urban design wise it's great. Very pleased.

Is Centergy North going to have its own parking structure or will it use the existing deck next to it?

Updated my map. Added Novare and Post Midtown. Has anyone noticed the new signs they've put up a few days ago on the One Museum Place site? The 5 story condos were not the same company nor were they called that. The sign says One Museum Place, coming soon. Any news on this?

What's this Medical Office Tower? Not familiar with it. Thanks for the map, really shows how much is on the plate for Midtown!

Has anyone seen the new lighting at Peachtree Center? I haven't seen it up close yet, but it appears that they're bathing the walls above the food court of the North and South buildings in multicolored light. Looks pretty dramatic. Maybe I'll be at work late enough to get a picture soon.

"Northside bought a roughly 1.5-acre site at West Peachtree and 12th streets for $4.5 million, according to Fulton County records. Northside officials say they have no immediate plans to develop a tower on the site, but they’ve done the early legwork. Last September, a Northside group presented a proposal to the Midtown Development Review Committee for a 17-story, 200,000-square-foot building."

Naturally, the two developments that stuck out to me were the apartments and the sportsplex on Bishop St. I work at 500 Bishop St and I have a hard time believing either of these will happen anytime soon. My building is at the corner of 17th & Bishop, and in NO WAY are we considered part of Atlantic Station. We're on the other side of a BIG bridge, which is the only source of connectivity to AS. If I walk to AS for lunch on a nice day, I spend more time walking than eating, and I just end up needing a shower. Bishop St is practically a dead-end street, with a few industrial buildings and soundstages (shhhh...don't tell anyone they make movies here). While I'm sure the area will see some sort of development in the future, anyone who thinks this will be "part of Atlantic Station" (as I'm sure both developments would market themselves as) is kidding themselves.

NOTE: The industrial building across Bishop from us has a tree removal sign and lots of "orange X" trees. This is on the north side of the street, so I know it's neither of the above mentioned proposals

I think I saw a proposal for apartments there (on the north side, not the south... I believe the zoning for the one on the south side was denied).

The Odyssey Sportsplex will be breaking ground this year according to their own Web site. There's no telling how true that is.

Some Models for Post Centennial Park Brownstone design

Some stock shots from a Boston Brownstone site that demonstrate the type of details that make Brownstones a prized real estate product. Maybe the giant heads at Post could use the inspiration to brighten up the location.

I think they are trying to appeal to a wider audience, not price almost everyone out of living there. It would be great to have that type of Brownstone available here, but the cost of building them would drive the price too high for most people. You can't compare something that was built 100 years ago to developments built today...and if you expect new buildings to look like that you will be disappointed every time.
