There is also a pretty extensive lowrise portion mid-block, which will (based on the renderings) make up more of the foundation area than the tower itself. I imagine that is why its such a big pour (though I have to admit I dont know too much about concrete pour volumes).

Isn't this building going to be taller than 400' with its crown? Does anyone have the details?

I believe 399 Fremont st is going to be 440' including the crown.

Here is a recent Curbed article mentioning the height http://sf.curbed.com/archives/2014/01/13..._hill_to_be_luxury_rental_apartments.php

I thought so and remember reading that article--thanks! This is another thread where the hight needs to be corrected.

^^^And do we know Curbed is even correct? Discussion here led to the thought that the crown is higher than that. If the building is 42 stories, unless two of those floors is below ground, the ornamental feature on top isn't <=20 ft. If it's 42 above ground floors, we hit at least 420 ft before we even get to the feature on top, which is at minimum another 40 ft, if not higher.

At this point I see no point in changing the title since nobody seems to know for sure what the height is or even exactly how many above ground floors. Same questions as with Lumina - I'm just hoping that unlike with Trinity/Lumina we do get to a final official answer.

New renderings were posted at www.scb.com:

Additional renderings.

The crown is now pointing north - I think I preferred it pointing south and up towards the top of Rincon Hill.

The crown is sloping the opposite direction in both renderings, so one of the renderings is clearly inaccurate.

I thought it looked better sloping up the hill too. Maybe they rotated the crown to break up the staircase effect just a bit?

After staring at this rendering for a bit, it doesn't seem so bad:

^^^I think that looks amazing. Combined with the other towers rising, that picture by itself could be a noteworthy skyline. SF's skyline is pretty large, though, and this will certainly extend it, but by no means redefine it. What's out of the bounds of that rendering is a large blob of 400+ ft office towers.

I can't wait to see the final product in 2017!

This highrise may get lost due to its future neighbors.

The tallest Infinity tower is 400', this is a couple blocks behind the tower yet it still is taller by a good amount in the rendering. This must be about 475' total, considering the nearby shorter ORH is 541', and located slightly higher on the hill.

The renderings are accurate. The first one shows the corner pointing to the northeast. The second one shows the corner pointing to the Southwest, but it is sloped up towards the NE. It just the perspective that looks like it is sloping in both directions.

Glad to see this coming along--it is going to make a really big impact on the skyline when viewed from the Bay (and when arriving via the Bay Bridge).

^^^ I was in SF in '10 and was driven into the city after sunset. With the density of the buildings and how they lit up, it reminded me of driving into Manhattan. This building will make that even more so.
