Now that Shangri-La still stands alone, a high-resolution photo of it deserves to be posted. We shall see how well Trump will compliment it or will it even end up stealing its thunder? This summer will reveal...

^^^ Really love your photo Klazu, it is clinically documentary and stunningly gorgeous at the same time. Thank you!

Thank you! I think it is one of the best angles of Shangri-La, as it looks not too wide or narrow, and it gleams beautifully during the sunset.

They are decorative elements that stand out from the glass curtainwall. Depending on the angle, they can look green or golden/copper.

Aren't the dots supposed to glow at night or change colour? I haven't really noticed lately, but they can be considered considered decorative elements (edit: as noted in the last post!).

That is a gorgeous photo, but that view should become even more interesting with the completion of these two other new buildings.

I don't understand the Shangri-la haters — it sure looks nice to me!

I don't see any Shangrila building haters at all. Just people who bash the city for not allowing this and that on a tall tower. The lack of lighting for this landmark is an issue.

Unlike the CN Tower or Empire State Building, do you notice that almost no one takes a photo of this building after dark?

This has always urked me. Our tallenst building in the city is also our most nondescript at night. A beautiful tower in the day, not even an aviation beacon at night. This still seems odd to me given the proximity of the harbour.

When Vancouver's Turn is completed, and if the rumors are true about lighting strips running up both sides of this tower, it will make the Shangri'La look that much more less impressive.

Trump is essentially a twisting triangle; it has three sides and three corners (with a column of balconies running up each corner). If the latest promotional video and renderings are accurate, then lighting strips will frame each column of balconies, for a total of six lighting strips running from top to bottom:

Wow, if this does come true, it will definitely become the pinnacle of Vancouver's night time skyline.

Thank you, all. Here is one more set of our beautiful tallest tower at the blue moment and after dark. The glass is certainly of nice color and reflects evening colors beautifully. Some lighting feature would be nice, though. Enjoy.

I think Bane from the Batman series would be extremely upset at that new Trump video .

Met with the owner of PH1 today (was hoping to go up to the unit again and snap some pics since I had a junky camera last time, but went for lunch across the street instead). He said PH2 sold quickly within 2 weeks of listing to a Korean family.
