Well that's if you think Calgary is one of the best City's in Canada. If you like miles of concert and sprawl then Calgary is for you. I will never roll into your 170 million music center nor a 250 million library but i bet you will attend a game in Regina's new stadium?? Out of curiosity are you from Calgary chad, It is pretty easy to tell regarding mentality towards eastern Canada who a true western is when posting. You boost Calgary like crazy on the national forum but yet if i recall your location changed several times before that location. I have no problem i just think its funny when people consider them self's a Calgarian or western'er simply because you moved there or work in the oil patch

Come on guys, if you're going to make fun of Calgary in a thread titled "Stadiums and Arenas of Canada" you have plenty of material to work with without having to resort to comments about urban sprawl.
The way I look at it, a 250 million $ central library will be infinitely more useful and gratifying for the citizens of Calgary than an other stadium, and it will see many more visitors as well.

Most of us in here will more likely just be a bit jealous of Edmonton and that beautiful arena (which truly will be a gem) and Regina, which I never thought I'd ever see build something bigger and better than Calgary. Bastards...

Agreed. Unfortunately, we currently have neither. So we have to build both, and I think an arena will win the contest of which to build first, since people seem to care more about that.
This is my fear - IMO we are in much more need of a stadium than an arena. I'm surprised a couple of rich oilmen-football fans haven't ponied up for a new stadium. Having said that, I still really enjoy watching games at McMahon, but I know it's now at the point it's stopping fans from attending games.
Ottawa def looks better from ground level and that retail area looks like it might be cool, especially if there are some good bars to go to before/after the game. If so, that's gotta be the closest bars I've ever seen next to a stadium, at least in Canada.

There are multiple bars and restaurants right across the street from BC Place.

Obviously - there's Real Sports beside the ACC.
There's a St. Louis Bar and Grill located by the Rogers Centre that is about the same distance as from 3rd base to home plate. There's also numerous bars on Front Street
