I find it so completely depressing that it takes so long for sizeable towers to get built nowadays, when the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings were both started and completed within two years.

Empire State Building et al were built when unemployment was rediculously high, and safety standards were rediculously low.
After reading the current office space leasing numbers for Canada... I think Brookfield should build this thing to 70 floors and forget about the second building for what sounds like quite a few years. Just my opinion of course.

Why stop at 70 floors TallBob? This design, IMO, would look even better if it were to surpass 300m. It is a gorgeous building but again, kind of wide and stumpy (despite being 247m) such that if you added say another 60m to top out at 307m, it would give it a more slender, tapered appearance, and you could indeed likely see it from Regina!
Yes please... Hope the underground parkade for the first tower opens up sooner rather than later so that they can tear down that fugly structure beside it

The increase in height and the increase in tapered edge would it look similar to the Salesforce tower in San Francisco. I would be down with that.
