Operable windows are good for occupant comfort. A design that doesn't look good with operable windows, clear glass, blinds, balconies, etc isn't a good design. The sleek mirror-glass skyscraper aesthetic, that SSPers tend to love, is at odds with everything that makes a space habitable, whereas more "pixelated" designs, (ie: 1400 howe, Woodwards) lends itself more easily to practical use.
