I don't think there are more now. I remember a lot more in the 90s. I never see a squeegee guy anymore.

I was at Lougheed and Boundary today at about 4:30pm and saw a couple of panhandlers working the intersection. There is almost always one or two guys on the highway 1 off-ramp at 1st ave too.

Lougheed and Willingdon is a pretty major intersection with a long red light, so I'm not surprised to hear 4 guys working the medians.

They must have gone back to Quebec.

How would one go about finding out the finished height of these buildings. Altus in particular.

These towers should have a good height, the podium they rest on should provide a nice boost, particularly at 48 floors.

EDIT: Duh, Altus is 183metres. Tall!
EDIT2: Thats to the spire, roof is 172m.

Didn't realize Altus will be so close in height to the Brentwood mall tower.

I've heard word from a good source that they have pushed back their estimated completion date for phase 1 from May 31st, 2015 to August 31st, 2015.

I'm not surprised, construction on the tower seemed extremely slow through Fall 2013. Glass installation should be beginning soon, I'll try to pop by and get some pictures in the coming weeks.

Was there an orange vest involved?

A 3 month delay isn't too bad. Looking forward to seeing this go up.

Stratus is really starting to go up now, its at about the 6th or 7th floor, starting to make its presence felt.

Looking to forward to having this building surpass everything thats in Brentwood right now.

Only to be passed by Altus not too much later.

No orange vest involved.

When promotions started back in I think March-ish 2012 they were aiming for a January-March 2015 completion. I fully expect phase 1 to complete in Fall 2015 not August. We shall see.

8th floor is formed and ready for concrete.

The first floor, or technically 4th floor, if counting the podium is now having glazing installed.

Looks nice, darker glass. Similar to the glass used on Vantage.

The August 2015 completion date was in the amendments provided to the purchasers of Stratus.
They are currently preparing to form up the 12th residential floor, and look to be setting up for the roof of what will be Whole Foods.
Looks like they might be finally getting to a floor a week.
Glass is installed up to the 4th floor partially as of today, you need to look a the building from Rosser to see glass on floors 2 and 3.

Looks like typical condo glass -
but the ledges add some interest, and the spandrels between floors are solid aluminum (?) panel rather than spandrel glass.
That seems to be more common in Burnaby than Vancouver - as seen with The Met as well.

Imagine all this, plus the adjacent Town Centre, in 10 years.

Thanks for the update. I quite like how Vantage turned out - very slick treatment at the top of the tower.
