I don't mind the deconstructed / disintegrating look.
The only inconsistency is the fairly evenly attached strips of window panels at the bottom edge of the flared canopy.
There's a bit of a reveal, but not enough compared to the panels above.

To me, it looks like someone made an error installing the glass; it doesn't look like part of the design.

I like the staggered panels, but it makes no sense doing it there only and not the rest of the tower.

I don't, either, but I think we'll get used to it. Besides, reparations and changes can always be made subsequently.

Thanks for the pictures. It's nice to see this one coming along. It's going to be a "star" when finished." Always good to see more of it. Nice angles in your pix, too.
I'd dare to say that this is becoming the classiest part of downtown.

The core is likely topped out, or quite near, but regardless the crown will likely take some months before it is complete and the building is completely topped out.

The office floors are topped out (minus the concrete pour for the top office ceiling, as of two days ago). All that's really left is the crown. At its highest point, the crown will have about four more floors' worth of height. The builders have been completing full office floors at a rate of about one floor per week. So, unless there is something more time-consuming about the construction of the crown, the building should be entirely topped out within about four weeks.

Crown will likely be made of structural steel, so it's an entirely different process. It's also not critical path so they might take their time. just look at Aura here, final pour of the concrete was ages ago but they haven't even started work on the crown.

I look forward to seeing the final lighting scheme for the crown. It's supposed to glow (from the inside) like a lantern.

Agreed, can't wait for the crown.

Side note: looking through these photos, does anyone else feel that the deign of the Guinness Tower hasn't aged very well? It has a nice base, but the panel-cluttered main slab looks neither slick nor solid.

WRT Guinness Tower, with MNP Tower built next door, we've lost the end view of Guinness - from the east - so the effect of the two black granite strips piercing up through the entire tower is now somewhat lost (the same way the tree trunk profile of 1075 West Georgia (former MacBlo Building) was lost). That was the more defining feature of the Guiness Tower, not the wide facades.

Dunno I'd have to disagree, I think the Guinness Tower has aged well but I'm a fan of the international style.

Agreement here. I think the main slab looks "busy." If the building could be reclad sleeker, and look less "spandrel-panelly," I think it could be a fine example of the International Style.

Yes, sad to see those views lost lost, although I think the wide facades are very distinctive, too (very 60s). The building will always stand out (as will the MacBlo).

I'm not particularily a fan of international style but I'd be lying if I thought Guiness Tower wasn't a damn fine example of it, which has aged as well as any international style building could.

Hmm, I don't think you are quite getting what international style is...

No it's ornamental, it wraps around the mechanical penthouse.
