This qualifies as a WTF!?!
What's up with the narrow window pane at the left side of the rotunda?
(it's also shown on the rendering)
After meticulously demolishing and reconstructing the rotunda to precise dimensions -
they can't use windows of all the same size?
And if they have to have one oddball window, why can't it be symmetrical?
- put the narrow one in the middle.

Steel at grade on Granville - for canopies(?).

Interestingly, that stair and ventilation shaft (based on model) (green) are exactly where an access to the Canada Line Station below would have been great.

The model in Built Form's pics shows the emergency stair and the ventilation shaft, but also shows an extra doorway to the south.
Could that be for a retail concession? I suppose they are both emergency exits for the scissor stairs?

The rendering shows fins right to the corner.
The previous panels had the fins pre-affixed, and there don't seem to be any clips to add them to the new panels.

There are numerous inconsistencies among the renderings which have been released for this project. However, the video fly-through on the Cadillac Fairview website shows no fins on that corner @ 1 min, 31 sec:

Yes total WTF!!!! Typical Vancouver and James Cheng sloppiness and lack of attention to key modernist details. This is unacceptable, after just returning from Scandinavia, and having witnessed much outstanding architecture and design, one element I noticed was 'gridlines' always match and are consistent and transition perfectly and seamlessly from one material to another.. such as glazing to tiles.. and are perfectly symmetrical in most cases unless intentionally otherwise whereby to complement to overall design.

Looks like they are finally cutting through the top floor for the new office elevator shaft.
You can see some rubble under the gray steel framing.

Too bad we can't take a leaf from their book. Scandinavians have a knack of (usually, at any rate) "doing it right." Their architecture is a prime example.

Also, the first panels of glass have been installed at grade on Granville - no pics, as my phone froze.
Glass looks charcoal-ish and although it's full pane, the height doesn't look as tall as on the model.
Brackets for curtain wall have been installed along the 2nd level facing Granville - so we should see soon what that glass looks like (clear or fritted/frosted.)

Looks like work has stopped on the corner protruding part (hasn't changed in ages):

At-grade clear glass on Granville. Should provide a nice view into the store (or display windows?)

I'm wondering how the slab edge will be concealed? i.e. glass spandrel or metal?
... and how cleanly it will transition through the awning brackets.
The glass spandrel behind the brackets for the second skin on the Robson / Granville corner looks too piecemeal.
Hopefully, they don't do the same here.
At least the window mullions are lined up (centred) with the awning brackets.

Note that for the second skin brackets, the brackets are offset so that the mullions line up,
whereas the awning brackets at-grade are centred on the mullions. That suggests a different treatment.

I feel it'd be great if they can open up the roof top to some kind of use. Maybe a roof top cafe, or maybe just green grass roof top for people to chill like a community. Anything, really, so it's not just a huge land mass not used.

Also, the views from up there, esp overlooking the Art Gallery and Robson Square, are great. It would be nice to have a "café terrasse" along the Howe Street side, for sure.

The protruding spandrelled part will be the Nordstrom cafe (no public outdoor space though). The terrace above is for the office space.

Note that HVAC units have been installed between the two rooftop structures.

Also, scaffolding has been installed at the Robson & Granville corner
- not sure, but that may mean stone cladding may be coming soon.

At least their appearance is tempered by the protrusions and balconies that break-up what would otherwise be a solid wall when viewed on angle.
I think that they help reinforce the shapes created (compared to just trying to do so with all glass).
