Still needs a roof and a few other things, but coming right along.

Also I know this has been talked about, but in case anyone needed proof I snapped this walking from Publix.

Pics taken by me today.[/QUOTE]

That's definitely a good sign, but the project still probably won't start for a while. Anyone involved with engineering/planning in Atlanta would probably know this, but for those that aren't these are required during permitting. Typically these go up after civil plans have been submitted, but before all approvals are in.

They are a lot of companies that are moving from the burbs to the city...but let's keep in mind that there are companies that are leaving the city for the burbs. It really just depends on what the company is trying to achieve. When companies leave the city and head to Alpharetta, we just don't see the press around the news, unless you are reading an Alpharetta local paper.

I'm not holding my breath on this one. Tivoli doesn't have the best track record.

I'd be interested in some recent examples of companies that have moved ITP to OTP. I'm curious just how many there actually are (I haven't heard of any lately) as well as what types of companies they are.

Scania just likes to crap all over Midtown.

Scania, don't you live in Plaza? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

I actually think he's being honest. Sometimes posters here are overly harsh on Buckhead due to it's more auto-centric nature and a bit to fond of Midtown. Scania lives in Midtown and calls it as he sees it.

As for me, if you can't tell I live OTP. But I am fond of good things happening ITP.

I do think people can be overly sensitive regarding Atlanta, but obviously everyone here is enthusiast, so I understand why it happens. However, Scania (is Scania a he?) goes far beyond "being honest".

With that said, I disagree with the notion that we don't know which companies are leaving the city proper to the suburbs / exburbs because it goes unreported. If any mid to large company were to pick up shop and leave, we'd definitely hear about it.

Yes I do...I try and be nice. I've said a lot of positive things about Midtown lately. As always, some people on this forum can't take anything that's not 100% pro-midtown. The statement I made wasn't anything against Midtown. But be it as it may, I could careless. I will continue to give my honest opinion.

Just explain to me how your statement was anything other than just a snide comment? How was it "honest opinion"? In case you don't remember, statement in question: "They are a lot of companies that are moving from the burbs to the city...but let's keep in mind that there are companies that are leaving the city for the burbs."

Like WTF is that? Another poster is happy a company is moving to Midtown from the suburbs and your response is some snide unsubstantiated quip. What is there to keep in mind? Why was this brought up?

That's fine, I'm just suspicious that your honest opinion isn't based on facts. I really am curious about these companies that have been picking up and leaving ITP lately. Can you fill us in?

Yes, I too would like to know who these companies are. It goes totally against the current trend, and I believe the news would be all over any company leaving the City for OTP.

I frankly don't believe it.

I'm neighbors with Scania. I have plenty of issues with Midtown. But it's absurd to pretend it's no more important than Cummings or Peachtree City.

I'm looking out of my office window at the crane building the new Cox headquarters in Dunwoody. I believe the AJC moved their offices OTP not so long ago. Should I post a picture?

This is a construction thread, so you could. I saw it a couple weeks ago, but I always love seeing construction progress.

^I would love to see them too.

For the purposes of this claim by scania, I personally don't consider the Perimeter Center area 'OTP.' The AJC relocation was big news, but it's old news. Cox has been out there forever, though.

The Perimeter Center area is booming, urbanizing and is our largest office market. I have been a champion of the changes and growth there. However, it is simply not the same as a company leaving the City for Alpharetta/Duluth/Kennesaw at all.

I workout at Colony Square and do my running outside instead of walking/running on the treadmill when the weather is nice. I noticed last night that they just put up a "removal of trees" sign within the last couple of days. That's a good indication that things are moving along, right?
