So all the renderings were wrong? The massing and onsite rendering looks more modern and blocky and less elegant and classy. Hopefully Stern surprises us. At least itll be clad with excellent materials.

It's the same building. The drawing is a simplified, most likely earlier version.

Pry old and simplified... Stern doesn't mess around this thing will be beautiful

So does that mean this project is gaining a cantilever

I like the on-site sketch better than the rendering actually. The rendering looked a bit cheesy and try hard.

Looks like Extell negotiated that 15'-wide trim on the top half of the right side of the building (when seen from the south). That will help protect the views from 217 W 57th.

So I assume the extra 81 ft. is from the crown?

In any case, 1,031 ft. sounds good to me. Add yet another supertall to the Midtown mix. This building will certainly have lots of company.

The 1,031 ft figure is the elevation (feet above sea level). The building is 950 ft tall.

Could be, I haven't looked at all of the documents.

But the earlier plans listed the building at 950 ft. I think it's an increase.

Note the difference in the number of units. I think the "wider" drawing was probably pre-agreement with Barnett.

if the permit is rejected it is probably a mix-up. We'll just have to keep an eye out for new permit applications.

Are you sure? Midtown at Central Park is around 20 meters above sea level, so that would be 65 ft.

Assuming this DOB doc measures from sea level, then it should read around 1,015 ft.

I'm only familiar with some parts of the DOB filings so if what you're saying is correct, then 220 CPS was originally around 885 ft., not 950 ft., because this is an updated filing from the original doc. It's a revised height from 950.

Not really. These permits are always initially rejected. Just check any of the various projects. It's probably just more design evolution.

Not sure how anyone missed this but it says right here 1031 is the' elevation... "Building Height" is still 950'
