I don't use the fiber cable actually because it is Novus and I didn't like their packages. Have Shaw 100mbit as the package deal turned out cheaper. Still nice though. I do only average about 85mbit though.

As for the cam, I'd have to buy one. I don't actually own a web cam of any kind that would work. Have the TV cams for my Samsung TVs for Skype and such, so didn't need one as my iPad and Laptop also have built in cams as with our cell phones.

May be able to borrow one though we shall see in the new year. Regardless I'm only here another 6 months then our townhouse will be completed and I'm moving, so you may all just need to find someone else in tower 2 to post a web cam. Has to be a few of us here. Unless someone wants to rent my apartment in 6 months time will be looking for a _GOOD_ tenant then.

I heard that the Compass Inn will be demolished by dynamite in the beginning of February.

Nice as long as they don't break my windows.

I'd prefer one boom and then pulling the rubble away rather than jack hammering concrete for 6 months.

Boom! Boom is always good!

There is no such thing as "too big" when it comes to booms.

I enjoy that the orange vest joke continues. That was a highwater mark of the Shangri-La construction thread.

Honestly, almost a decade and still going strong.

Things thing is progressing a lot faster than I expected it to. The site is of course much easier to build in with little shoring needed due to the size of the site, which I imagine has allowed them to go down and up much quicker, which is often the longest period of constriction, at least disproportionately to the amount of progress seen.

Very quick. The hole over at Park Avenue is also progressing quite quickly too. THey spent a good 2-3 months doing shoring and driving in giant steel bars into the ground before they started digging but digging is well under way. I'd imagine by Summer this project will be at or above ground.

I'm assuming that this is an old render, but I hadn't seen it before and thought it might be a good idea to post to the forums. It was found within the City of Surrey's draft official community plan (theme b) -->http://surrey.ca/city-services/1318.aspx

Cool. Thanks.
One of the office towers looks taller than in another render (below)
(which is the same (taller version) as in a video of the project on page 8 of the thread), and 2 of the condo towers look shorter.
What's that building in the background with the brown (brick?) shoulder?
It's not part of the King George project (compare to render below).

The draft one is closer to the actual proposal. For the council report that sparked the first phase development permit, they reduced the back residential towers (big render above) from 4 towers down to 3 towers, and then they put a new residential tower as part of the other phase (B) on the right side. That's the brick looking thing in the back.

From the planning report (no renders in the report like the above):

Keep in mind the other phases will change constantly until they go in front of Council. So don't expect even the above to be the final version of the entire site.

Well, that's shame to hear. I was looking forward to that 4 tower "super cluster".

Whenever I see the rendering of the second office block on King George (not the Coast Capital HQ), I'm reminded of the famous dleung "Telus Garden" rendering:
