What is Ingles doing above Vancouver code for Earthquake protection. I would think he would go beyond code as this building seems to precariously balance at the one end.

That's what weak, unimaginative and generally inexperienced marketers do. They use hyperbole.

Might sell to your dumb suckers, but any discerning clients will just ignore whatever comes after the exaggerations.

I know what you mean, but I still want to say that it's all very subjective and the is one answer to what would really be the most talked about real estate project in the world. There is just no one answer and same goes with "the best city in the world". One can't measure it.

From my own subjective point-of-view I can still say that Vancouver is the best city in the world and I would not want to live anywhere else right now. This was my city of choice and I am happy for it living up to it.

I have mentioned this before but I want to tell you guys that my uncle lived in NYC for 18 years and last year he visited Vancouver and he said that "it is the second city after NYC that touched my soul. I have been to many cities but Vancouver really is a special city".

Yeah, we can be a little hard on ourselves. You have to put things into perspective. We compare ourselves with Toronto, San Francisco and New York, cities quite a bit bigger and older than us. 2.4 million people really isn't all that much. I'm sure Vancouver will continue to improve.

The website is quite terrible in general. I can forgive the overly dramatic selling point but 10 videos talking about what the name "Gesamtkunstwerk" means and how it is pronounced?

That's just for the upcoming art exhibit on skyscrapers intended to create hype for the project.

For a 52 storey building, it doesn't seem to look all that "tall".
I like the way the low-rise blocks angle back away from the bridge - seems to open it up a bit.

Imagine living on this planet and never truly understanding what Gesamtkunstwerk is..

Joking aside, Im pretty excited for this project. Even the smaller buildings make me excited!

It's cool too see (even just hypothetically) that the granville 'light poles' theme would continue over the bridge. That, and of course the tower looks great!

That's a nice looking model. Too bad the reality of being under the Granville St bridge is a little different...
