I thought everyone knew about the Yellowstone supervolcano, so didn't find a picture to illustrate.

But that's not what really surprised me, I knew there were bombs this big. What surprised me was the fallout.. Wow..

EDIT: Back in High School I really wanted to study ballistics and nuclear weapons in college so this stuff still FASCINATES me. No judging.

Awesome (in the more traditional scientific sense)! i wonder how our winds, which are rarely a measly 15 MPH, would affect the fallout spread.

Sweet. The Nukemap takes zipcodes (or similar) into consideration. I'm dropping Davey Crockett's all over Denver, and the casualty rate changes. For reference DC's are 20ts; if you dropped one on Auraria, Pepsi Center wouldn't be harmed.

Hell yeah! I've got the original trilogy if you want to play a classic or two. The new game that came out a year or so ago is quite different although god in its own right. It's much less complex and more linear from a strategy gaming perspective.

I think that the reboot of XCom did a pretty damn good job of capturing the essence of the original and the more linear gameplay was a design trade-off that made the game more difficult.

I still love the gut wrenching feeling you get when your carefully selected and irreplaceable veteran trooper takes a face full of plasma.

I was going to buy XCOM when it was on Steam holiday sale but I totally spaced it. I think I will next time it goes on sale though. It looks super interesting.

They did a decent job but, I think that these guys did a better job of capturing the essence of the classic.

I think that's closer to an out and out port versus capturing the essence of the original.

It just a hell of a lot more competitive. Gardner doesn't seem to be exactly a bold visionary, except when it comes to conservation or development of natural resources, but he is more of a moderate than ol' Bucky was and certainly is an establishment Republican.

But it's another hick representing a state with a majority urban population. I expect plenty of pandering to rural interests if he is elected.

I like Udall, but he's never struck me as somebody who really represents urban interests either. Eldorado Springs, granola eating, quasi Boulderite, is not representative of the state's Front Range interests. It's just the closest thing Dems can come up with that's remotely electable. Not too many Hickenloopers in Denver. Your run-of-the-mill Denver Democrat is no less extreme than Ken Buck, just on the other side. (I'm not sure that kowtowing to bicyclists is any better or worse than kowtowing to ranchers.)

I like Udall because he's your classic Western stewardship of public lands kind of guy. But Gardner's likable, I think Udall is in trouble. I don't really think Kansas needs a third senator. But I think they're going to get one.

Well Stevens just left the race. It's just Owen Hill v Gardner now, right? At least from his comments regarding the Buck-Gardner switch, I expect Hill to stay in. Even then, Gardner's not going to have to waste money in a tough primary.

True. DeGette's worthless 🞵🞵🞵 comes to mind. She's almost as bad as Lamborn.
