The "terrace" should be interesting.. I agree it is almost certainly a requirement based on the marta rail passing underneath and the inability to build above parts of the site
Nothing will be in the area marked terrace except whatever "park space" they put there. Could be bocce? Who knows. The pool is on the 8th floor above the parking deck and some of the retail.

Isn't that what I said? That the pool would be next to the tower above the parking? So I think we are in agreement. Mark my words though, there will be Bocce haha

Does anyone know anyone who parks in the lot that will become this building? I imagine they must have received notice by now of the parking situation, including hard dates which would give us a better idea of when construction will actually begin. I see that no tree removal has started, and I imagine that will happen before any real construction happens.

I think it's AGL Resources employees from the 10 Peachtree Place building (the red granite one).

Real cranes have appeared on the site of the Georgia Tech Student Housing, on 8th and Spring. Up until now they have been moving dirt (and moving a lot of it). To me this is exciting progress on the project. The cranes must have appeared Friday or Saturday.

I can actually see the construction site from my unit in Spire. There are two cranes on site and most of the dirt has been removed. The taller crane (the red one) appears to be shorter than the top of Plaza, which I believe is only 18 stories. So I guess there will be a 3rd, taller crane that comes along at some point?

I watched the crane go up on Saturday. I think this tower in particular is going to do a ton for that area.

And with "33 Peachtree Place" starting soon that area will be quite different in a year or so.

You got that right, I knew they were going to do some improvements, I guessed they've wanted to keep it on hush mode for a while!!!

Correction in my comment above - it is only slated to be 17 stories, which is 1 floor shorter than Plaza. So there probably won't be a 3rd crane.

AMLI submits plans for 640 apartments in 2 projects

http://www.buckheadview.com/2014/02/amli-plans-reviewed-for-640-apartments.html

Quote:
AMLI Residential presented plans this month for development of two parcels of the 16-acre tract at the corner of Roxboro and East Paces Ferry roads that would include a total of 640 residential rental units on two sides of a new 2-acre park that will be developed along with the first of the apartment developments.

Quote:
The first of the two developments presented includes 180 apartment units in a residential tower that faces the 2-acre park and a new road, Park Drive, that runs along both sides of the park. In addition to the residential tower, there will be 60 units that will wrap two sides of the parking deck on the east side of the site, facing both the park and Roxboro Road.

Quote:
The second proposed AMLI development of a total of 400 apartment units, would be located on a site on the opposite side of the 2-acre park and would run from the corner of Roxboro Road along East Paces Ferry Road.

The stretch of retail property on Piedmont Road b/w Cheshire Bridge and East Rock Springs was fenced off yesterday. I guess Fuqua is about to begin construction on this project there.

MIDTOWN IS ON FIREEEEEEEE!!!!! (ALICIA KEYS VOICE) LOL...To be honest,I really thought this project would never go...I guess it is now, and im loving in the infilling skyline and revitalizing these parking lots into something more useful. And I wont be surprised if another developer to bring another 50+stories less in 2months.

I guess the city is in a mini-boom right about now.But if you guys think its a official its not.until we Dee some cranes up...
