thanks for the pics, Toysnoiz! I especially dig the third on down, with the red crane, the COB, and 99 West. Very cool!
This is my proposal for an Olympic Park: put the arch right back where it was during the games! During the games, the ten acre parking lot between North and South Temple, and 200 and 300 West was transformed into the medal's plaza, and really the heart of the the Olympic village. The space is still empty, still just filled with a giant parking lot, pending development by it's owner, the LDS Church. The planned development will be institutional and educational in nature. I'm sure it will be developed to very high standards, considering other LDS property downtown, and would probably contain a fair amount of green space or park space anyway. They could build a dedicated plaza for the arch and torch and etc. It would be a feather in their cap to host the state's Olympic treasures, and I am sure the LDS Church would be a generous partner for this, they can always be counted on to do good things for the city. I think the SE corner of the block would be a great place for an Olympic Park, and still plenty of space for a lovely urban campus for the Business College.
