FrankieFlowerpot is one of our moles, along with LeftCoaster. Incidentally, is your handle a reference to that awfully annoying — of a weatherman on Breakfast Television?

Yeah. The massing is reminiscent of Marine Gateway which is a good thing.

I see. No, it's not cause for embarrassment. I just thought maybe you were a fan of that weather douche.

Leave Frankie alone, I'm a fan. You're a douche.

Well that's not very fair, you are comparing low res images to high res detail shots.

You make it sound like 160 Front wont have nice detail work too!

I remain confident that this tower will not only win over most but will look great once realized.

I disagree. Even low-res images of 181 Fremont (and other visually engaging towers) more or less express the important gestures of a design.

Regardless, UT has just published some higher-res renderings of 156 Front: http://urbantoronto.ca/news/2014/02/high-res-renderings-156-front-west-reveal-new-details

Meh.

Corpulent, and those slots on the east and west sides are head-scratchers. Looks like Cronenberg designed them.

Meh.
Looks like the top 45 meters of the building are purely reserved for mechanical/lantern or something.

I love the idea of more major office towers downtown, but as far as the design goes, I wouldn't mind if this got canned. The bulges are unattractive and the roof is just silly.

181 Fremont engages in all the wrong ways. It 's an awful design that I wouldn't wish on anyone. This CF design has far more grace even with the balconies.

Those vents look like mouths. Cool detail.

Those mouths look —. They make the building looks like a giant blow-up doll.
