Kilroy Reality Corporation and AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) have separately filed appeals to the Hollywood Palladium Project, a development set to erect two residential and retail towers behind the concert venue on Sunset Boulevard. Kilroy has stated that despite their attempts to work with CH Palladium, LLC., the project’s developer, the proposed towers do not fit with the context of the neighborhood and their density is too great for the area.
I just don't see how anything gets built in Hollywood. Soon the developers will grow frustrated and give up. Just build everything downtown, we have the room.
As I said in the Non-downtown development thread, I'm appalled by the fact that AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is opposed to this project. Why on earth would this organization divert critically important funds devoted to AIDS causes and instead use them to fight against a residential development?
This is insane and the people responsible should be called out.

The Los Angeles City Council approved a plan Tuesday for two residential high-rises next to the Hollywood Palladium, setting the stage for a protracted legal battle with the politically active nonprofit group next door.
On a 12-0 vote, the council backed a zoning change, a height district change and other approvals for the Palladium Residences, two towers expected to rise as tall as 30 stories on Sunset Boulevard near a Metro Red Line subway stop.
The Los Angeles planning department on Wednesday issued a determination letter extending approvals for the planned development around the Hollywood Palladium by Crescent Heights until 2029, according to an update to the project’s planning case.
It's still unlikely to happen. Things have slowed down significantly in LA. Too expensive to build and the abyssal downturn of the entertainment industry doesn't bode well for anything outside of 5-over-1s.

What happened with the entertainment industry? In any case there are lots of reasons to live in LA aside from that.
