I think Yellow Fever's pics pre-date madog's pics on the previous page.
I think there's a delay when he posts.

Trim off everything after .PDF and press [enter] to get the file instead of the 'page not found' error.
Thanks. That's strange - now I get page not found, but those extra characters aren't there either.

You can also go to the index and download from there:

Here's the Branchline magazine's issue with an article on the Canada Line (which includes a good historical summary)

Haha, tell me about it! That pilar is like right in front of their front door.

Great photo updates. I really feel like missing out on this project as things are moving forward so fast!!

Eminent domain?

Its likely White Spot was paid just for the inconvenience of construction and the loss of that space of the parking lot.

Likely the same agreement as for the Home Depot by Gilmore Station:

Thanks.

Came across this dashcam video at bcnewsvideo uploaded Jan 11, 2014 - shows Clarke Rd and North Road.
There's also a Feb 13th video, but it just shows the Como Lake / Clarke intersection.

The video shows that there area still a good number of columns to be built.
There are also a few non-standard columns.
Some would be for left turn lanes - not sure about the one at the 2:08 mark.

I suspect that the high elevation of the guideway at Clarke & North Road is to allow the outbound trains to "coast" downhill
into Burquitlam Station, rather than accelerating up a constant grade then suddenly braking to stop in the station.

Video Link

As of today they have a big support structure like an arch over North Road. They seem to have all the support structures in place to put steel guideway segments all the way to North Road, but they haven't added any this week.

Also, on those 3 concrete segments of outbound guideway, they've got plywood and rebar in place to pour concrete to form the actual guideway surface with raised edges.

That seems unlikely to me. There isn't any issue having to power uphill into a station - the Expo line does that in several places, including eastbound into Nanaimo and 29th Avenue stations.

Room for a platform extension?

If all the steel guideway segments are present, hopefully they should be in placed all the way to North Road before the end of the month, given that it takes literally one night to get a couple of steel segments for both outbound and inbound to be in place.

They still need to do the guideway surface and so on, and I would assume they all have to be done before they can open up the White Spot which presumably, at the latest, March 31. Given how long it takes them to do the guideway surface of the concrete segments of the outbound guideway, I would think they will need plenty of time to pour on the steel segments...right??

Why would you eat in your car when it takes the same amount of time to go inside and have an actual table and not leaving your car smelling like hamburgers and fries.

It is an old tradition from days gone by.

There are only a select few white spots that you get served in your car.

I went to the area today and misunderstood your post. I was under the impression that the steel guideway segments were present in the site (but not yet hoisted up) but I saw none today (or maybe I missed them). I did see the support structures though...pretty cool. Too bad no one has photos (I tried to take one for the North Road support arch but a Chevy Venture blocked my view at the last minute).

I noticed that there are still quite a few column holes (very close to each other) near Gatineau Place that is yet to be filled, so its still a couple of months at least to see all the columns done. Also, I saw them hoisting up the first concrete section for the segment over Clarke Road today (around 3 pm). Clarke Road was pretty much close southbound with only one lane northbound open.
