Here are the model pics of the first tower from their facebook page - you can see the orientation of the tower on the blue triangle noted above:

Nice.

Bizzare how that pixelated wall on Aviara will perfectly match the signage on the Steve Nash Sports Club.

Hah - good eye, hadn't thought of that! Hopefully it won't match for too long though; it would be lovely for it, the Boston Pizza, the Executive Hotel, and the Staples to get redeveloped soon...

From the Brentwood Station blog dated Dec 6, 2013.
It's gonna look huge from this angle.

I'd be interested to know as well.

I still remember early sales pitches where they will say that floor 10 and above would have a good view of the city. Won't be very true now with a 52 floor building in your way.

Glazing is going up on the bottom floor. Cant quite see the colour yet, the glass still has protective film.

the hotel was supposed to get redeveloped a number of years ago, plans were for the hotel to become a tower and a residential tower as well, i guess similiar to the exec inn at north road and lougheed

Taken through a dirty SkyTrain window today. Really moving quickly now, though sadly it seems like the blue film covering the glazing will be here for a while:

Its quite an imposing looking tower. I think it would have been better if it was taller, mainly because the view down Halifax makes it look very wide. Granted its only about halfway up.

Ill try to snap a picture one of these days.

phase 2 will be 52 stories tall. my understanding the tower crane should be erected in the next few monthsl.

There's a thumbnail of a tower called "Gilmore Tower" here:

Could be phase 2 of Aviara.

I think that's the reminiscence of the older Millenium Development project that was suppose to be 46 stories tall. The March 2013 public hearing for it was cancelled, so I don't know much beyond what was reported in the following articles:

These perhaps may be more recent renderings of Aviara 2 that even give a rough idea of how it will sit with Aviara 1.

sleek

Wow, Aviara 2, in terms of design, beats out most of what's built or upcoming on the downtown peninsula ... IMO.

Sweet - Thanks!
(Not keen on that sliver up the side though)

Wow, thats very impressive.

A tower that tall there will look truly massive.

Aviara is barely 20 stories and its already visible from far and wide. That building lot is quite high, a 50+ story tower will look massive there.
