—. That is how you do an extremely tall skyscraper! Good lord! Everything about this is just kick — awesome! 2,000 is such an absurd height, yet the base and really everything I'm seeing seems very well proportioned and fairly pedestrian friendly (or as much as is possible). Awesome!

Look at that! It's like some sort of giant sea creature (like a Leviathan) jumping out of the water, twisting it's muscles.

I hope the people of Shanghai will treasure this beast.

This is a screenshot from "Inside Shanghai Tower," ((上海中心 ) (The Twister)) a compelling new 9-minute video by filmmaker Nick Almasy, giving a behind-the-scenes look of the design and development of the colossal Shanghai Tower. The video features interviews with Marshall Strabala, Chief Architect of Shanghai Tower, and never before seen footage of the building taken from on the tower and outside.

The building is cool in itself and will be second tallest in the world upon completion if I'm right.
The only downside is that it destroys the impact of Shanghai Financial Center and especially Jin Mao Building, that is a pitty since these have really brilliant designs.

That photograph gets my vote for skyscraper photo of the millenium. Those are 420m and 490m towers that are just way, way down there.
