The Hope Lodge

Construction crews have started the demolition of the LDS ward house on the property to make way for the Hope Lodge.

As I went back to the page 1 to view the design of Seasons at Library Square I noticed that the design seems to be nearly identical to the Denver St Apartments. Seasons is two apartments wider and one apartment shorter with a taller corner crown, they have a slightly different color pallets, but the design is nearly the same.

I like both of them a lot. I think their style will continue to look good for many decades to come, as long as they're maintained well.

That is great news. I hope they'll be able to follow quickly with the construction of the Lodge itself. I thought that was a very attractive project.

The developer of the seasons is actually constructing two buildings.. One is at Denver Street... I swear they told me the other one was around fifth south and third west.. Maybe they said third E. though

There are a lot of people of Scandinavian descent in Utah. I know quite a few who go there every year. I go often. I also have a large number of Norwegian and Swedish friends who come to SLC often.

I am a quarter Swedish and a quarter Norwegian myself. I LOVE Norwegian Air, also, so this is an exciting prospect.

Usually buildings look worse than the rendering, but this one looks much better than I expected based on the rendering.

Hopefully once the legislature passes the CCH (fingers crossed), news will be coming faster. Although really, the last 3 months have had a lot of exciting developments. Better here than in other cities our size.

I assume.

I really don't know.

Does anyone know what they were able to salvage from the interior of the old bank building? Some of the buildings coming down for this project are a bittersweet loss.

I called Layton Construction asking if I would be able to take anything. They said the would get back to me. So far, nothing.

I really wish we'd see at least a decent 10-plus story residential building. While these five-story buildings are nice, and add density, I just don't get why we have such an aversion nowadays to taller residential buildings - especially since, throughout the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, a smattering were built throughout the eastern & downtown areas.
