I have been looking for this for freaking AGES!!!

The entire site plan and phases:

http://www.calgary.ca/PDA/DBA/Documents/...agenda/2013/dp2012-4963.pdf?noredirect=1

Also, the diagram of this building in the database needs a SERIOUS update. It has absolutely no detail or flare like the ones of The Bow and EAP. I really wish Calgary had some awesome drawers my skills in the matter are severely limited.

Oops!

My apologies!

Missed the quote in Tills' post that the pit at Brookfield was only 1/3rd of the way down, and thought his reference to the depth of the Bow was based on today's photograph.

Never mind...

I assume, since they're digging out the whole block, there's going to be parkade under the plaza, as well.

Depends on the contractor... sometimes to another site that needs fill like interchange construction and sometimes just to a pit to be screened or crushed. Unless it's contaminated soil.

that's going to be a long walk for middle-management and low-level employees to the elevators. Poor saps.

Yep. Dirt is one thing that can be quite cheap in these parts when lots of construction is happening. In fact I saw an ad on kijiji the other day from a contractor who had I believe 70,000 cubic meters of dirt they need to find a new home for, for free, and that includes them hauling it to where ever the person who wanted it wanted it put.

You are such a creepy internet bully. You should stop while you are ahead. I suppose your are making some wise crack at me "cutting lawns" because I am a landscape architect. Its really not that funny.

Yes. When complete, the parkade will fill the entire block, but it will be phased. The west side will be completed with the second tower.

I hope the second tower isn't a 30 + year delay like FCC 2, and like Bow 2 is going to be.

Interesting. Hypothetically, could excess dirt go towards elevating low-lying areas? building hills in certain areas, like say parks, like say Fort Calgary? burying highways or creating sound barriers?

^ Jimby: That's exactly one of the reasons I would like to have seen maybe a 70 story tower! Thinking it might be 15-20 years or more before the second tower gets built!

Couldn`t agree more; somewhere around a 1000ft with 70 stories plus would have been awesome!!!!

Landscape architecture and lawn maintenance are not the same thing. Hopefully you will be involved mostly in design and construction of landscapes and not simply "cutting lawns".

I thought this was a cool little tid-bit from the DP.

Quote:
Brookfield has stated that the company has a significant history of actively programming spaces in their global portfolio and that the south west plaza would provide a scale of place to replicate the active arts and events similar to those held in Toronto and New York.

That would be horrible. Can you imagine Brookfield Place phase I up against the ugly parkade for 30 yrs!

Work in Bow Valley Square and see this everyday, which I love watching the hole keep going down.

Heard that the crane should be going up soon!!

I forget - does the parkade being built in phase 1 have to be open for use prior to the demo of the remaining Bow Parkade? IIRC there were some conditions around that but I can't remember exactly...

Also if phase two is delayed like FCC was for 30 years, leaving that fugly parkade up .. I will punch a kitten

I think that outcome is exceedingly unlikely.
