We don't know for sure unless someone has intimate knowledge of the project. Floors heights are flexible, so of course that alters estimations on heights, not to mention other things like what sort of crown is on the building, if any, and how many lower level floors will have extending ceilings? We'll just have to wait and see.

I honestly believe that if this was going to be taller, it would've already been mention in several sources that Atlanta may be getting a NEW tallest structure in the city. And if I'm correct, it would be the tallest in the southeastern United States. I can't wait to see the renderings, this could be very exciting!

The tallest tower would be 1,661 feet, which is 600 feet taller (!) than the total height of the Bank of America building (including the spire).

I'm sincerely wondering if the 1,661 foot figure is a typo.

There's no way this tower could be 1600 feet. I wonder if the plans could have been above sea level which led to the confusion.

It does seem that when you start to see the grandiose, multi-phase projects that the end of the development cycle is near. In this case, it seems way too early to be overbuilt already.

Perhaps it's that rents/SF have only now reached a level that makes such projects even feasible. Also we did have 4-5 years where virtually nothing was built and the new condo inventory is now nearly depleted.

I think you're probably asking the wrong crowed. I doubt most people on this forum don't venture into that part of town, or even know where that is.

This said, I know that HJ Russell was planning some liner retail along MLK. Is that the site?

For what it's worth dept:
The block above Jamestown 13th street staging area has had all its trailers and all equipment removed- looking ripe for next new project to begin setting up offices and staging. Perhaps for Tivoli or phase 4 Jamestown. Fun to speculate.

I'll check it out next time I'm through the area. It must be on Ashby / Lowery side of the station. I'm through MLK often. I love the housing stock on MLK between Westlake and Ashby/Lowery. I didn't like the demolishing of some of the buildings in the MLK commercial district which had fronted the street to make way for development that didn't really happen. But I do see recent investment in that MLK area. The entire area has so much potential.

^Looks like more stick-frame townhomes under construction, in the block bounded by MLK, Mayson Turner, Carter, and James P. Brawley. The Washington Park neighborhood is already one of the best in that area, so it's good to see some more investment and transit-oriented design taking place.

Do you mean phase 4 of 12th & Midtown? Jamestown is not a part of 12th & Midtown or any other development near 13th street that I am aware of.

I grew up over that way, but just don't have as much reason to go there these days. (Other than stopping by the Busy Bee).

There is a sense of momentum in the area. While I'm not a big Walmart fan it's my impression their store is a positive addition.
