1121 Bay comes close to the dome. In any case, "engages and tries to fit in" is more than enough explanation. Trump is tall and tall is really good no matter what.

I must say that Scotia tower is the best tower in Toronto. in short it is a "— dropper".

I'm with you Uzi!

Scotiaplaza is a tower on "Beastmode"!

And we thought Aura would be finished by now. Looks like it will be at least another 6 to 7 more months before its finished. Thing is taking forever.

I'm already bored with it, and One Bloor is so —....

Things I'd never thought I'd hear Cal say number 261; I'm bored with the construction of a tall skyscraper.

caltrane74 · #**208** Posted **Feb 1, 2014, 3:21 PM**

That usually only happens after 4 years of construction....

uzi · #**209** Posted **Feb 1, 2014, 7:05 PM**

what is the name of the building behind one Bloor (under construction)?

caltrane74 · #**210** Posted **Feb 1, 2014, 7:13 PM**

The building behind One Bloor? Well my friend that building is also One Bloor.

uzi · #**211** Posted **Feb 1, 2014, 7:23 PM**

really? is it the podium or the whole building?

One York and Harbour Plaza Residences from BuzzBuzzHome:

http://news.buzzbuzzhome.com/2014/01/construction-harbour-plaza.html

In that last shot, there are five 200+ metre towers under construction.

I remember when Southcore was all parking lots.

WhipperSnapper · #**215** Posted **Feb 3, 2014, 1:29 PM**

West side of York were weed lots.

Two 21 storey office towers were among the first proposals and would have taken up the Ice development site.

Delirium · #**216** Posted **Feb 3, 2014, 1:32 PM**

that last picture is just wow! looks like there's a giant spire on top of Ice.

travis3000 · #**217** Posted **Feb 3, 2014, 5:35 PM**

In that last picture it's hard to believe we have three 700ft+ towers which haven't even been built yet going up (Ten York, Harbour Plaza twins). Add in a nice 530ft office tower sandwiched between the two and this area will be insane to drive through come 2017. It already is quite impressive, can't imagine it getting more condensed.

vegeta_skyline · #**218** Posted **Feb 3, 2014, 5:38 PM**

Ah yessss... there's nothing like seeing a freshly poured batch of concrete first thing in the morning to get one's skyscraper geek on.

16 York, 60 Harbour, 1 Yonge all have potential to raise the density bar.
