I like your thought process on this!

As someone else has stated and I agree. I am really curious as to who their major tenant is that they have a pre-lease agreement with. I hope it's not Goldman Sachs as the original rendering showed, I would like to see a new major company with a high demand for office space be moving into town, or at least be relocating or expanding into downtown, rather than simply a move from one downtown building to another.

I wish I knew of a place to find out more information about the financial sector, and if there is word of any of the other major players expanding their Utah presence. I don't have a chance to read The Enterprise anymore, I'm sure someone on here does. Any word in there about large expansions, financial or any other type?

Wow, I didn't realize how stubby it was. Looks much better as a 290 footer.

actually yes. More than 4,000 people voted. I was going to analyze the results and post them last night but I got assigned to do some breaking news so I didn't have time. I think the Shilo won, though I could see that being influenced by the fact that the survey was prompted by a story on the Shilo.

Anyway, I should have a breakdown mid next week (I'm going to NYC Sun-Mon so it'll be after I get back).

Just a quick sketch of what the new 145 and 111 towers might look like in the skyline. This is the view that allows you to see almost all of our towers. I still think the Bell Plaza counts as one. :-)

Don't remember who it was on here, but about a week or two ago somebody was asking about this development.

http://www.beecherwalker.com/anderson-westfield.html#2

I came across this page about the "Anderson Westfield" 15-stories development.
Not sure if it's still in the works ( hope so ) or if it's dead. But I really like it.

I believe the site is on 400 south just across the street from the Main Library.

From my research, it was proposed across the street from the library. Thing is, I've found renderings that go back to 2008 - January, to be specific. So, this project has probably been in development at least since 2007. That extensive period leads me to believe it's dead. Of course it's dead. I mean, it's way too cool for Salt Lake.

Definitely like the new version better than the original below, especially floors two through five, and the 6th floor at the top.

I think eat a burger will eventually have to be demolished.. The whole northwest corner of the property is sinking. The building is actually starting to crack.

And even if it has to come down the lot will just be empty for YEARS and YEARS until that selfish cow sells the land to a developer who gives a shit about improving it and is willing to be ripped off by buying it for 8x more then what it's worth Men, I hate land bankers.

I'm insulted that you would taint collectivism by associating it with the borg cube lol.

Probably true.. In this situation an empty lot would actually be an improvement.

The city should set up laws and start fining the shit out of property owners who don't take care of their property.. We should make boarding up windows and fencing off abandoned property illegal.. If they want to sit on property they have to maintain it just as if it were open.. This includes empty lots.. No fenced off areas.. They would have to maintain landscaping or parking...

This might encourage owners to sell the property quicker because they wouldn't want to have to deal with the maintenance costs or fines if they refuse to maintain the place.. And the key would be to make sure that the fines would be higher than the cost of maintaining the property.. That way the property owners don't opt to take the easy route.

"Way too cool for Salt Lake."
It's just like the Regent. Except the Regent is blue and taller.

Very nice building, love to see it go up, but yeah, probably dead.

At minimum, the city should condemn the building. At least a vacant lot would be better. Maybe an ordinance preventing the fences, too.
